i never did get the idea of mounting the ecu in the engine bay, always thought it was the lazy way! Doesn't really matter how old the tech is really, if its proven to work and is sensible cash that'll do!
na that's a bit steep, we'd be around £850-£900 as a quick estimate (don't quote me!) including dephaser, all seals, oil and filter, head gasket, headbolts, valve stem seals, cambelt kit, aux kit etc etc
Re: Inside Koenigsegg - Carbon Fibre
really? see i had that with a customer moaning that their 182 front spiltter wasn't as good as the one from another company, but it was full blown sexy prepreg CF which in the motorsport world is the best, glitzy stuff from china looks better but ironicly...
Re: Inside Koenigsegg - Carbon Fibre
i spent many weeks composting, its SO boring (and cold so that the prepreg doesn't set) there's a real skill to it and is very time consuming to do proper prepreg stuff, the majority of the aftermarket bits you buy for cars are just naff wetlay stuff that...
it happens a lot with top end cars, not entirley sure why but i know of a C63 AMG that was crashed and sold damaged repairable (un declared, should've been a cat D or even C) because the person driving it was pissed, car was fixed and sold on as a straight car

if an engine was 100% air tight the thing wouldn't run, or would imploded, the gases generated from the pistons (non combustion side) going up and down need to vent somehow
common fault, the fix under warranty back in the day was to replace the entire engine bay loom instead of a £2 terminal, madness but that's Renault for you LOL
