Lol. Talk about jumping in at the deep end mate. Can't really offer much advise as I've never done anything this advanced. My limits end at suspension/brakes and engine mounts lol.
Good luck with it though and if you need a lift with anything just give us a shout.
I took my rear seats out and built a false floor and housed my rear speakers in it.
Main reason I did it was so when more than one person at a time asks for a lift I can simply smile and point to the back of my car ;).
Seriously though, it never really made much of a difference taking them...
+1 Not that I'm biased in anyway though ;)
Lol. I imagine this thread is going to spark a few arguments unless it's deleted. It's the manifold that gives the 182 the extra 10ps.
True! Active for 3 years (you're allowed up to 12 points with in 3 years) but you can't get them removed off your license for 4. It's so the insurance companies can rape you for that little bit longer for having points on your license.
I'd gone offline by the time you sent that message mate sorry.
I had a similar problem with an old Escort I use to have but that was due to a failing battery and everything electrical went dead, a new battery cured it.
There's a guide on here for fitting them on 1*2s, I'm sure it'll be the same principals for fitting them on your 1.4.

Lol. Yeah I noticed the "condom" method you'd used mate, I may use your "patent peding" method before it's licensed :rasp:
I won't be doing it anytime soon though, especially while the weather is so crap.
No, I've still got the standard lines fitted, did plan to eventually uprate the lines with braided/stainless lines at somepoint, I may as well do both at the same time.
Cheers mate.
My calipers need re-painted because I didn't make such a great job of it the 1st time as the paint is starting to flake off, didn't help getting covered in mole grease from a split CV boot I suppose.
Anyway I was thinking just removing the caliper completely rather than painting it in-situ...
Camber of the road can pull the car to the left, you're best finding a flat smooth road or even a big car park to test it. The knocking could be the strut hitting the turret usually cured with the "strut top washers".
Going to have to say I'm a definite no to this, strikes this week (if they happen) are on Friday and the following Monday. Shame really as I would have liked to find out what mine made on RS Tuning's RR.
I went and bought myself one of those Arcan jacks Jord(Foxy) has a picture of up there ^^.
Seriously recommend getting one as there a decent bit of kit and a bargain at the price they're selling for at Costco. Price had dropped slightly as well when I got mine today.
Had GreenStuff pads in previously, they seemed reasonable for a short while but as soon as they start getting hot they start to fade very quickly. The last Cat&Fiddle run I did with them absolutely fucked them. When I removed them to fit my DS2500 the material just fell off the metal backing plate.
I've got a long list of problems I've had with mine, common and not so common problems, some times I even hate it as I had it up for sale a couple of months ago but then there's the times I really do love the car. As for the lack of spare wheel issue, I just bought a cheap standard 172 Alloy and...
Funnily enough the Friday before the meet (cruise night) two lads were waiting to race and were flashing this car coming down the "strip", it was a police car. It continued down the strip pulled next to one of the lads and said "don't race to much" LOL.
Just like to add, I don't regularly...
Agreed, it's pretty quiet around the "strip" and plenty of room to park, although I'm sure the sleeping truckies don't appreciate the noisy exhausts :o lol
