Unfortunately you do get bad ones where Renault are concerned, mine's the same, something is always breaking and I hate to think how much money I've thrown at it getting it fixed.
Is yours the car that had a major coolant leak?
Got to say I agree with the majority and think the before picture looked better. How did you find those Apex springs? Just they have a bad reputation on here.
Try and keep hold of it if it's financially viable because I'd imagine the resale price will have you feeling even sicker.
I was in the same boat a few years with my 1st Cup, financial circumstances changed dramatically and I was forced to sell the car. Absolutely gutted watching it drive away...
Looking good mate, when you say you're getting a 172, are you going for a new car or doing the 172 conversion you was talking about at the last NW meet?
I had the exact same thing in a Zetec-S, only difference was it shook like an old washing machine anytime I accelerated. That was down to a knackered driveshaft
Think I'm glad I couldn't make this, going off the results and going off Jamie Rigby's ITB'd ZS, (ran my car on the same rollers as him a few weeks ago) mine would haven't got a good result lol.
How many turned up to this anyway? according to the list there was meant to be alot going.
I used a torque bit in a Dewalt cordless drill and they came out fine. I think the previous owner had removed the back seats though for his sound system, so when I came to remove them they hadn't had chance to rust up.
I had a similar issue but only on one wheel, overtime it settled down and leveled out, it still is slightly higher on that wheel though.
Also check that all the springs are sat correctly.
Re: N/W Xmas Meet
Sounds like a plan, I wouldn't mind paintballing (never done that before) or karting. I'll be passing on the PizzaHut afterwards though, really don't like their food :dead: lol.
If that's the case I'd imagine you'd need a new wheel or you'll just have to periodically tighten the nuts in question. I wouldn't put thread lock on the nuts though.
If you've got the funds to do it then why not? Most will say get a "1*2 it's pointless" but if doing the conversion doesn't hurt you financially then I'd go for it.
Sleepers are immense when done properly.
