Can you weld the diff in a 172? To give 50/50 torque ?
Reading recent threads it seems that the qualif diffs are only 50/50 ? so I could save a grand and just weld the diff and get the same effect?
i know feek all.

first mig or arc?
second what amp for stuff upto 4-5mm steel
what make for general hobby use and a bit of motorsport (making brackets etc)
ive looked in machine mart etc the clarke ones look minto.
want to spend no more than £200.. anything cheaper is...
Car is a 2001 172 psh1
Need the torque values the following;
4 Subframe to chasis bolts
4 support plate bolts for subframe to chasis
Wishbone bushes bolts (where its bolted to the subframe)
Inner ARB bolts for the support brackets
Outer ARB bolts for the support brackets
Ball joint / hub...

went to fit my H&Rs last nite, bit of a problem..
firstly - i cant work out how to assemble the rear platforms. please see pic.
Second - one of the bolts on the rear platforms is smashed to bit? like badley threaded. now i remember someone posting that you dont need to run...
half way running my battery to the boot, i was thinking last nite that the starter must draw Phat amps to turn the crank, do i need to run its own feed to it? as arnt the amps reduced the further the battery is away? (longer lead)

i need space on my AUX line. ive lost the aircon and lost the PAS pump also fitting a volvo alternator and bracket (sits lower and is smaller)
was thinking lastnite, i could use my PAS rack and not fit a manual rack,
then ....remember on the 106GTis/ saxo VTs's they have fluid driven PAS...
so far ive managed to loose 140 kgs of s**t from my psh1 172.
what would be the new wieght? i.e what are they standard. just note to loose this ive lost

i have "removed them from the old caliper lines" with timmy mallet

ive got my new rear diskes today.
my new old ones if you like had bearings just replaced before i decided to uprate
can i use the old ones in the new disks? save forking £50 for new ones?
i am going to be running manual steering on my 172
i know the rack is hydrolic (sp) i have the rack off now and there is a million PAS pipe bolted on to it.
i need to remove all these which is fine but do i need to block the holes in the rack when the lines were, as i dont want s**t in them...
got the o/s off but cant get the n/s off!!!
