Decoder ring round the ignition barrel is one option to try? checked all the earths?

I purchased the TCM last year but never got around to fitting it as the weather cooled down and a new battery appeared to ‘fix’ it. I think it was around the £800 mark but don’t quote me on it. Then there’s the fitting which is a dealer job as it’s not plug and play the module needs programming...

I use mine (ph1 200t) as an instructor car so lots of town driving, stop start, idling etc and I get 32mpg. On a motorway run I’ll easily see 40+.

Second what @Brigsy said. It does sound like it’s what issues I had which seem to have been solved by replacing the Transmission Control Module.

Get him his own policy get him building his own NCB. As per Andy’s post, avoid black boxes wherever possible. If he’s going to have lessons with an instructor you’ll probably be waiting a while if you’ve not already got on a waiting list. Get him to study for and book his theory ASAP...
