Just wondering is it a good idea to put some kind of grease on your coilovers to prevent them from seizing up from dirt and such like when they're on the the car? Is there a specific type of grease which would be best?

Im probably completely wrong, but can you repair light scratches on alloys like you can on car bodywork Like on the bodywork if you wet sand the scratch then polish it back up? Can you do this on alloys if the marks aren't to deep? or are they painted differently?
