Love it. It's hard to not buy a Mx-5 at the mo. If i didnt have so much debt/house/kid/only just sold some of my cars, i'd have one bought and ruined by now.
Just a idea but either get some chemical metal and chemical metal the locking nut to the bolt (you'd need to play the waiting game till it cures properly, but should/might work), or get a friend to weld another bolt onto the locking nut. Could be tight to weld but it would work.
I was so happy to see a update on this thread. Love the mk1s still, seeing them at FCS made me want another.
Ps Should have plated over the sunroof and it would have NEVER* leaked again.
*(Thats a total lie, mines still leaked like a friday night *****, the GF hated the clio shower)
Tell me about it. If it wasnt a auto it would have gone plenty times over.
Thats the plan. Got some bits and bobs to do, suppose i better start seeing as i also sold the wifes Mk4 today. ooops, no car for her to drive.
Thast what the guy said, he was a total mk2 buff. offered less than what...
Just to end this thread. It sold this evening. One of the weirest car sales ever. A guy from my street, that knows my mum well, Drove to Johns to view it where we were enjoying some dinner and tv watching. Offer me good cash to take it away there and then. I empted all of my stuff out of it onto...
That's the mk2 gone. Sold it to a guy pretty local to me. He's got a nice bora, a few mk2's and alot of vw history. He's looking at swapping in a Vr or a 1.8t so I'm happy it's gone to a good home.
Was nice meeting you too dude. Gave me some ideas and motiovation to get started on mines. So you're pretty much getting the blame for me fitting these top mounts (badly)!!
Once i've managed to get everything fitted up it will be sent away for a set up.
I think ill need to take a picture of everything i have and see if i can mate everything up to work.
The pure motorsport ones i removed were fitted to a set of standard cup shocks, so didnt look like i could get them to fit the Fk's.
There also looked like a part missing from the pure ones that might be important.
On the bottom right of the pic there is a collar that should be fitted in...
Great. what about the other positions?
It will have a full geo set up once everythings on and set up. Looking at the marking would you say that these are set up for standard dampners rather than coilovers due to the nut touching the side and being hard to tighten them up?
As i say they were on my other 172, so was looking to use them rather than buy more pure motorsport ones.
Pain in the hoop. But im sure i'll manage to sort it. With a little help.
I searched this, but needing advice. I see that they need to be either spec'd to the coilover unit or machined to allow fitment.
I got these on a car and have now transfered them onto my flamer. I was never sure if all was "right" on the car they came off of. Now im sure they arn't!
I have a...
