No i removed them when i got the rack as i was told i needed 172 182 ones so installed the inner tie rods of my silver 172. Im hoping i just need to undo column and at the rack and re align

Need to get this white clio out soon so this can go back where it normally lives

Didnt get much done today ! Takes me hours to move everything out the garage just to do anything and then put it all back ! Removal of the 182 steering column

I do have the original bolt so will put it once i get the rack straight ! I think my head had gone today 😂 Yeah i did think there was different lengths but i think it was down to euro car parts selling me the wrong ones years ago

I will have to try disconnecting the column of the spline inside and see if i can make any adjustments. Just wasnt expecting to have to fully wind the trackrod ends as far as they go to get onto the hubs

They are definitely the longer ones as i have a shorter set in the garage which were bought in error years ago. Is it the same bolt as on the original rack or diffrent ?

Also should there be a bolt where the column attaches to the rack ? Mine is currently just attached and if so what bolt and nut size should it be ?

Fitted a set of hubs to the red shell which have 2 good bearings , i fitted brand new track rods and ends and ball joints prior to the car being transported so all should be good on the front end with AST Solid top mounts, Kw variant 2 coilovers , and polybushed arms. I think i will be looking...

Did a couple of hours this morning in the sleet / rain ! Removed track rods from the silver shell as these have done less than a 1000 miles since being installed so will be fitted to the white shell. Fitted an old set of hubs which were fitted to the red clio for transport to the silver shell...

I know it makes no sense ! The white one was local and cheap and the paint on the silver is knackered from sun damage. I wish i had kept my standard 182 RB 😂😂

Yeah it probably is buddy if its done decent mileage to be fair . I think they are one of the weak points but like anything it only has a limited life , i know people have iaaues with the line leaking aswell

It was purely for trackdays and lived in his garage. Yeah he sank some serious money at pure motorsport and had all the top end parts but i wasnt plowing stupid money into this , spent enough buying this ans the other bits but at second hand prices as i always buy all new and spend far to much...

All abit slow with not being able to give much time at the moment but no massive rush with Covid etc and not being in a garage. Hoping to do abit more after work when it gets abit lighter

Did abit more on the strip down. Shafts , hubs etc all removed ready for engine removal. Had an issue with my engine crane , not sure if the bolts had loosened or just failed but bottom bolts bent ! Noticed they are only 4.4 rated , its the 2 that fix to the base 🤔

Im trying to keep the white build on a budget , im guessing bilsteins are probably around £800 as cup front and rears is around £160.

Ive got KW V2's on my red shell , i have bilstein b14 on my S2000 but havent given them a good test yet but imagine they are pretty good
