Not exactly masters of fit and finish the guys over in Renault. Things like the grab handle coming off in my hand as I closed the door (before I put a fecking big screw in there).
Then again, if I wanted fit and finish I would buy something fat and boring like a Golf R32! ;)
These were ridiculous. The car vibrates at an insane frequency, your ears feel weird because the air pressure becomes altered, my windscreen mounted phone holder becomes a blur and my dash sounds like a hive of angry bee's.
But these mounts along with the pure strut brace have changed the...
I think I have the original ones. They came from a cup car. They have the speedline logos imprinted on the wheel face rather than a sticker. And they have three lots of writing between some of the spokes, one of which states the weight. Will take some pictures tomorrow.
The one you get when you pull away sometimes...
Take out your battery, and check the nut that holds the pin in the gearbox for the gearbox mount to mount to.
I have been trying to track down my knock for a long time and when changing my engine mounts today I found the pin was loose. this was...
I fitted this little lot. (except dogbone as my jack is a bit rickety and did not fancy climbing under the car)
When KTEC say this kit is not for road... they speak the truth.
I will be keeping the red mounts though, even with the standard dogbone my engine is rigid. Honest opinion, if you...
I don't know what it is about old Alfa's. Something about them is just so right. Some great thinking in the 75 too. Gearbox is in the back for example.
Look fantastic on track bouncing around with E30 M3's and the big Cosworths.
They list two types, a silver and a red set. Red set being firmer and more for race/track cars.
I have taken a punt on the red ones for the road. I give the little PH1 some abuse on the track and I have torn two brand new Renault items so wanted something strong.
Am i going to regret this on...
I seem to remember reading that on older engines it can do more damage than good when using a flush. Unsettling old carbon deposits that are effectivly filling gaps etc?
I could be wrong, just curious.
Some pretty High mile ph1's here in NL then.
I wonder if I can hit the 200k Mile mark. I drive it fairly sensible on the roads because my drive to work has a 100KPH Trajectcontrole. It does however do a few track stints, although I do try to be mechanically sympathetic. No bouncing off rev...
I'm not trying to take anything away from you. Seriously. I'm glad your happy and it sounds like you had a lot of fun.
The sad but true fact is that in the grand scale of things... the Clio is not all that in terms of straight line. Take me to cadwell park or ty croes on the other hand and you...
In my most recent track day I was out dragged by some pretty ordinary stuff. A Megane estate gt line and a BMW 3 series. Both diesel's. Despite my lack of track knowledge I still managed to pull them in under braking and in the corners.
I think most modern sales rep diesel's will have the RS...
I have Ktec gold top-mounts. My Pure top-mounts and strut brace should arrive soon. I'm going to attempt the swap myself...
I have Eibach sportline springs on koni adjustables. Will I need spring compressors to swap the top-mounts over? or will I get away without?
Team balancing kinda sucks. Been on a server this morning where the other team were all level 14, we were levels 1-4.
Its quite fast paced. Really good fun. So far I really like it.
I'm not great in the Titan's though, going to need some practice.
