4-pot brakes stop a car faster?

This is the problem with the question posed by op. Who's to say the single pot caliper is not alloy. Too many variables.

4-pot brakes stop a car faster?

Disc size is changed for heat dissipation. The amount of pots in the piston has nothing to do with heat dissipation.

4-pot brakes stop a car faster?

I think the easiest way to deal with this thread is... 4-pot brakes stop a car faster? = NO

4-pot brakes stop a car faster?

If you are asking if 4 pot calipers will greatly reduce your stopping distance, the quick and simple answer is no, they will not. They do greatly improve overall braking performance, but they will not drastically reduce your stopping distance. If you don't think your car stops soon enough, buy...

These wishbones look wrong to me...

Firstly, i know my car is a rusty old bucket... I feel bad showing my rusty under bits when I know how clean people on here keep their Clios... Mine is a tool, it goes around track as fast as my limited bag of tallent can take it, she don't need to be pretty.. Now, to my question. Is it me or...

It only really happens now when I go over a speed bump at an angle, so as one side of the suspension is loaded up I get a clunk from under the car... So far have replaced Full/vibra engine mounts with powerflex dog bone wishbones pure motorsport...

Gearbox Syncros & Crunching Gears.. Best Option??

My box has a slightly sketchy 4th gear. If I drive like a spanner and rush the gear change it will crunch. I suggest to anyone first try taking your time with the gear change, don't attack it like your filming a drag race for the latest fast and furious film.

I think I have destroyed my cam belt.

Thanks for the even more depressing news captain hindsight :) All this and I am still praying the cambelt's not damaged. EDIT, just realized that the part they ordered was the idler, and they thought that was a repair kit for the tensioner. And there was me being nice to the Kwikfit boys, haha

I think I have destroyed my cam belt.

Yeah, they originally ordered just the bearing and a belt... bearing would not fit and gates don't sell the right one. So had to order the complete tensioner. Talk about an ouch moment. 300+ Euro job. :(
  17. John Gordon

I think I have destroyed my cam belt.

On the Subject of tensioners..... 200 f**king Euro for a tensioner!

Should be fine. Fingers crossed my cam belt escaped the flailing aux belt

I trust these guys to fit an AUX belt. Nice bunch of lads to be honest, Been there several times with punctures and when I was having my car tracked every other week with the s**tty VMAXX coil overs. Honestly a competent and very knowledgeable bunch of guys. EDIT: in fact, to prove the point...

    Twin cbr900 engined clio anyone?

It also looks like it has a solid rear axel...as in no differential. Should make it an interesting drive!

I think I have destroyed my cam belt.

Ahh, I see. Well I purchased a Stanley knife, cut the belt off and drove to kwik bodge. Engine seems OK but did not rev it. New gates belt and tensioner bearing should be fitted by the end of the day.
  23. John Gordon

I think I have destroyed my cam belt.

What does that spray stuff do? I just assumed that it was a form of weak adhesive to stop the belt from slipping.
  24. John Gordon

I think I have destroyed my cam belt.

Fingers Crossed I may have been lucky, just nipped down for a quick smoke so had a look at the damage. Seems the belt is fraying on the non cambelt side so I am hoping nothing has come in contact with the cam belt.
  25. John Gordon

I think I have destroyed my cam belt.

To fit an AUX belt! And it is kinda an emergency.
  26. John Gordon

I think I have destroyed my cam belt.

Kwik fit is less than a mile away. Cut the AUX off and drive that far? like less than 2 mins drive?
  27. John Gordon

I think I have destroyed my cam belt.

Oh, I thought an AUX only did the power steering, alternator and AC. Crap. Guess my car is stuck at work then.
  28. John Gordon

I think I have destroyed my cam belt.

How about if i cut the AUX belt off. Should be ok to drive then right?
  29. John Gordon

I think I have destroyed my cam belt.

So, fitted the KTR engine mounts this weekend. Been having a squeaky AUX belt for a while, so yesterday I decided to spray the belt with this anti squeak stuff. Got to work this morning and I noticed my engine was making a horrible sound like bits falling off it. Popped the bonnet open and there...
