Yes there always seems to be one stupidly clever person behind an ECU :) Sounds like it'll be a good bit of kit Ben was telling me about it a while ago and it sounded good.
Yes it'll come with time as you say never ideal having the car pulled apart mid season so i'm sure next year will be nice...
Ahh sounds very good! Yes the Renault crank signal is horrible for ECU's I agree :) Look forward to seeing how the car does next year will be good to watch everyone and see how they all get on
So Croft today and another great day in the car :) Day started off damp so had to swap to the 888's then it dried up so back onto the Dunlop's and then it rained again. The car once again had great pace and I had a good friend of mine driving who used to do a fair bit of professional racing so...
Pete have a look at your crank sensor wire from the ECU is it a shielded cable? All crank/cam sensor cables should be run in shielded cable and if not done then could cause exactly the issue you are having. Not doubting what your wiring chaps have done just a simple thing to eliminate. (Shielded...
Haha thanks Martin :)
Absolute pleasure mate thanks for all your help with bits this year really have helped the car along :) LOL i'm enjoying the lack of being overtaken and Rob was the same when he was out!
Haha Chris doesn't even have a clio but good try buddy ;)
Epic Dave :). That along with the AST's and of course the 5th gear will see you right near the front! (Not as far as if you had a set of the hubs though ;)) lol
Thanks mate I posted that gear out today with special so it will be with you tomorrow by 1 :)
Thanks Morgan :)
Haha yes I really like it although every corner of the car has damage now so been chatting with a friend for a new livery ;)
My comments were aimed at track performance not road sorry if I wasn't clear :)
No I do mean the federal RSR as in the dry they will wear quicker than other more slick orientated track tyres.
Dunlops are the best possible road legal tyre in the dry but are w**k in the wet. Rsr's are a good all rounder but won't last too long of its fully dry and you are pushing on.
Personally I would go with a set of R888's as they are great in the wet and very good in the dry
LOL just went through some picture on facebook and came across this old picture from how the car first looked when it got built! Amazing how much its changed/come along in 18 months :)
Croft trackday tomorrow :) Cars are loaded and all ready to go in the morning!
Moving house on Sunday and the new place has much faster internet so will get the video's loaded up once moved as it'll be quicker
It looks to me like the first prototype 182 system that was made as it runs the bigger tailpipes and also the date was a few weeks before I got mine and mine was the second one. Epic system :)
Just because its easy to fit the shorter ones into the car which makes it cheaper to fit, this more appealing to people who just want to say they have ITB's on their car. They will sell people what they want just like most decent business models would do :) same as when TDF sold the kits they...
I'm not biased for AT at all and I'd quite like to swap to Jenveys but people can't say AT runner length is tiny as they don't just make 1 kit they will make them to whatever length you like. The kit on my car is very long and works pretty well. It's all down to how much trouble you want to go...
Dohhhh :(
Yes thank you again for doing them in such a quick time :)
Great stuff look forward to seeing you there!
Not a link as such but I will PM you the details of who to speak to :)
No worries buddy, not at all mate i'll drop you a pm with the details :)
I was chatting to the company that make the Alcon brake kit for the Clio's the other day (the one's TDF used to advertise at well over 2k+vat)
They were telling me they are having a push on selling them at the moment and have brought the price down for the kit to around £1500 inc vat this...
Thanks everyone it was a really fun day and just really loving driving the car at the moment
Hi Russ, in the end I ran the new brake ducts along with the shallow style alcon pad in EBC Yellow stuff. They worked very well and only slightly started going off into Mansfield on one lap so pretty...
Had an epic day :) Car ran faultlessly all day! All I did was swap tyres once and other than that didn't touch it! Took a hard pounding all day and its all ready to go again on Thursday at Croft!
Never driven Cadwell before but managed to get upto speed okay in the first session. Just a really...
Well done Pete another signature. Real shame about the misfire mate you've had nothing but issues this year :(
Same problem for me today at Cadwell with the cold weather and getting heat into the tyres never felt anything like it!
