Yes its probably 1mm away and -10 so is pretty rigid :( Thanks Kenny!
That explains why it worked last year then without thanks Dan.
Do you know if the 3 metal studs see 12v when alt is running or earths?
It worked all last year without any warning light as it wasn't wired in so if I just left it then it'd be as it was last season.
Yes Kenny it's the cup alternator, unfortunately the braided hose won't really shift so can't get access to the connector. Thanks for the offer mate :) My dash says...
Can anyone help please? I need to know which pin on my alternator to wire my alternator warning light to? The dash says it wants to know 0v when its not charging so any of those metal studs okay?
Thanks
I'm such a pratt!
Went to fit the false floor for the drivers side last night and couldn't find it anywhere... now my garage is a slight bombsight at the moment but after over an hour searching I realised it wasn't there. Stupid me left it in the boot of the courtesy car I had last week. Spoke...
I did think about cutting out the passenger seat rails but I decided to leave them in so that I can still take passenger out. It won't be ideal as there feet will be level with the bottom of the seat. When I have the passenger seat in I have a second false floor that fits onto of the standoff's...
Thanks Morgan yes I've had a few people PM me about them, I'm not sure if its going to go down far enough so I'm going to keep looking around for more pictures. I'm only after something to modify and then use to get a fibreglass one made.
Haha it will! Hoping Will Pedley can sort me out for the connectors, Fred for my gearlinkage and then a couple of hours at Paul's :)
Would have been good fun but just seen Andy's comment about it being full :(
Dohhh at least that means I can go out tonight instead of another lonely night in...
I know for definite CAS coatings do (£1 an inch place) and I'm pretty sure City in Brum do. There is a warning in CAS saying they bake to 500 degrees to remove old coatings
That's what I thought but couldn't see anything that looked right on eBay I'll have another look later :) thanks
Yes but very rarely. I have got a second false floor which is held above the electronics by some stainless steel standoff's so that the electrics don't get trampled on :)
Does anyone know what the really slim and small dash is that some track clios have used in the past? I think they are from a previous Clio but I'm not finding anything on EBay :(
Finally got the chassis loom finished the other night
Got 4 days off next week and by the end of it I need the...
They said 16-18nm but I have done them to 12nm and they seem tight enough and aren't leaking (touch wood) just need to give the whole system a quick bleed in its quick check over before shakedown.
Flol ;)
Yes i've heard of similar horror stories from companies that are baking the alloy's to remove the old paint etc and the alloy can't take the temperature. Had it happen to a friend of mine.
Nice one :)
Got a stage 2 swift booked but just seen there is a trackday on the daytime Monday and Tuesday so tempted to take the Clio over too
Sounds good to me I'll PM you my number in 2 mins
Yes can't wait and was such a coincidence when Breamy said in another thread you guys are there at the same time! I'm taking the BM and will only do a couple of sighters in it on Sunday and then hired a car from Rent 4 Ring for the Monday and Tuesday. Yes would be good to meet up with you guys...
Thanks buddy hope you are well! Yes unless they were definitely 100% it just wasn't worth risking.
Haha lol ;) the things we do ehh
Flol! Nope ;) the new calipers were bought on the condition that I torque them to a figure they give me and then any future issues are alcons own problem :)
Yeah mine and quite a lot of others were rr'd at 215ish but as others say all rollers are different. Mine then went on another set of rollers and did 176bhp so figures really aren't a good representation especially from whatever company you choose to do the work as the results are easily fiddled...
Just got home and greeted by my new calipers thanks to Jetstream Motorsport (the people who make the Alcon kit for the clios) for the speedy delivery :)
I don't know in all honesty but the company that used to run my car tried everything and couldn't fix it. Basically the ABS kicked in too early so you would be nicely modulating the pedal and then suddenly ABS would kick in.
All I'm trying to say is if going to all the expense of fitting 4...
Interesting Ian thanks for that, I'd be a bit concerned about clearance as the surrounding area on the Alcon is quite small but if they work please would you let me know as it would good to carry a spare set of calipers :)
Thanks again
