Hehe.
Well, at least you've got your BOOMZ back for now :)
From here in, all you might want is a small sub, which will help free up the standard speakers to deal with non-bass.
And that, sir, is a stage 1 ICE Remap :)
You had actually seen the car before you'd bought it, yes?
If so, what did you expect!? :D
Totally understandable though....maybe less so about the "no guts". Everyone gets 200hp for free these days and use all of 3000 revs to get to it, mind the old RS must have had V-Tec levels of boost lag
it's a 10+ year old car, so yep, it's possible.
NO more or less so than with another MX5 though  and the bills will be bigger on a Clio is something does pop
Bless ya.
Yes, it's an improvement, but it's still nowhere near what OP and I are used to in the world of "good gearboxes"
Clio gearboxes are made of frayed string and plastic. And the shift itself feels like stirring a bag of rocks, 3 miles away.
Compared to an MX5 that is.
In fairness, my '5 is my daily. YOu think you're going to need 170hp to get to work and back? Fair enough, get a clio.
Otherwise, just get an...
race / track car discussion?
EDIT: AKA "as above +1"
Also, I'm running a plate of dubious legality on the front of listerine.
If a policeman wants to do a u-turn, chase me down, then pull me over for it.....well, OK, it'sa fair cop.
WHich is why I keep a full-size plate in the boot, because...
I ran a 172 (non cup, Ph.2) as a daily for 5 years.
Other than the alternator bracket falling (leaving me dead by the M4)
A dead battery
a failing exhaust
CV / driveshaft
No issues really. 40mpg on a run, 30 in town. It wont be as wafty as the focus and, for a daily mile-eater, that might be...
It's threads full of road-weapon genius like this that justifies ever increasing insurance costs.
For Clio owners who still have their mum tie their shoelaces anyway
they'll raise the limits and reduce how much play you get at said limit.
Currently, you'll get some squeal, then a bit of breakaway, and if you keep pushing, then they give up.
The more slick, the more the situation changes to
grip. more grip. more grip. ABSOLUTELY NO GRIP!
The claim times.
the exclusions
the pattern parts.
All of this adds up to a "nah, you're alright mate" from me.
As said, you're not far off of just buying a box outright once all fees are added up. Besides, by the time 3rd can't even be accessed by rev-matching you may well be sick of the car...
Unfortunately, by presenting yourself as a road warrior:
"most of the turns should be about 120-150 km/h with these tires."
Many on here (who are older than 19) will see this the last thread you start before you barrel-roll your car into a wall.
Besides, I answered your question in post #4.
Of course you will. Because I do things like 'obey speed limits' and stuff like that.
Also, some of those corners on the backroad to yours stay really greasey under the trees, even after a full day of sun. Which makes for more lolz
What more detail do you need?
If you were to bolt on full-slicks then you'll tear stock suspension apart in no time.
But"semi-slick" will be fine. Provided you don't get any standing water.
Rain will be fine, but as soon as you get standing water....straight to the scene of the accident.
I've seen enough CS meet threads to know how this will end.
4 blokes stood outside of Daytona, asked to front the cost of the 25 bookings.
What comes first, the venue or the names?
I'd say, really, venue.
it does that on Win8 as well doesn't it?
It's how I administer the parents PC anyway, to preent losing another 8 hours of my life dealing with their adware
I'd love to. A proper track would be lovely.
There's some fancy, corporate track somewhere in the south with a figure-of-8 layout, landscaped and everything. Looks just how I'd want to design a venue. I want to go there.
But first, finding it
5,6 and 8 are the EXACT reason big CS events fall on their ass.
Yes, or no. Inbetweens are worthless to all concerned and just lead to disappointment at the turnout.
YOu dont get this grief with MX5Pensionerclub.com, but then they only have gardening and Jam-making to do for most of the rest...
WE dont need 400 people to be part of it, those who ARE bothered will bother. The usual suspects wont.
As i was saying to Pac, if people want in, it's cash up front, no f**king about.
Re: Time of year.
A grand CS collective charity event would need planning, so summer 2106 is more likely. a...
I was chattering at @Sunglasses_Ron and, to a lesser extent @Nik about this idea.
Except not a south one, more a CSKarting event.
Somewhere more midlandish (without passing the Brummingham parallel, duh), but a 3/4 hour enduro with teams.
Anyway, yes
