Finally found a CV joint!!
After 10 shafts 8 old 2 new aftermarket brands and a lot of research we have one. Turns out these K20-Clio shafts use the 32 internal spline for the outer CV joint which isn’t that common and I think only on the 172 cup shafts. All aftermarket brand shafts inc the...
I’d 110% go with the a-class hydroelectric pump.
Easy 2 mount, 2 wires making easy to wire and works great with good feed back.
I’ve fitted one to my mates eg civic with a k20 in and it works well.
I know how you feel, frustration is creeping in on mine now after moving so well for abit.
Defo don’t break this up, you’ve take time to everything probably, just take a bit more time.
Ticking things off slowly but struggling with finding a decent outer CV joint that’s usable once removed. I’ve brought 3 shafts off eBay and all where knackered. 🤦🏻♂️
Also having trouble making up a bottom coolant hose that doesn’t play on my OCD 😂
Problem I have is the thermostat even with...
Slowly ticking through the jobs. I’ve got loads to do and mock up before I can get the wheels back in the ground. I want the wheels and suspension set before tacking the chassis leg and gearbox mount.
Had this gearbox breather on order for a while as mine was shagged.
I’ve been looking...
Think with a standard 172/182 it would be fine to be honest.
May need something with the PMS manifold. The manifold Is lower on the K20 even if I went for a PMS style manifold so will be fine
Yeah well happy. Took a few brave pills to drill through it mind 🙈 but was fine 😂 rather that than make new bloody hoses 😂
Ties the engine and dash together nicely
I received my carbon bulk head panel from @EVO 4LEX and its proper smart and perfect fit.
Got a new oil cap and coolant cap, I’ve also fitted a Ktuned recirculation hose, ordered a Ktuned blank for the housing and fitted the Ktuned coolant housing.
Also ordered the clutch hose from HEL
Spend some time getting the mirror in the right place. In my blue cup I could see all round the car, back window and both rear quarters easily. Hardly used the wing mirrors on track days 👍🏻
The K20 engine is in on all 3 mounts and checked for clearance on just about everything. I’m pretty happy with where the engine is sitting and how it sits, so the gearbox/chassis leg plate can be tacked where it is soon.
List of stuff I still need to sort or size up like clutch line, new feed...
I have to say they're good fun to drive in race mode and traction off. Spin all four wheels booting it out of a corner and unsettle it.
Mine A45S has no aero pack so it’s not so fast and furious but you can defo tell it’s an AMG being wider, big brakes and wheels
The mount defo needs the thickness but will be solid once in. I’ll post some pics of cutting the chassis leg.
Handling shouldn’t be effect, should be a good combo.
The conversion kit is £2500.
Not sure tbh From throwing the engine around its lighter probably as the block is alloy block, but the box being 6 speed is defo heavier.
Yeah it’s mega close. Even changing the alternator belt will be a challenge.
Don’t think the engine will come out the top either.
Need to fettle the chassis leg a tad more for the gearbox mount.
