Really like the white 1.2's mate.. good effort on working in the snow, whenever im out in anything other than a hot summers day the neighbours like to have a sly comment that does my head in...
what is the end goal with the car then?
looks like an omp boss is it not? I cant help you with the cruise connector as i fitted mine to a 172 cup but the airbag connectors fit through easy if you flip the clip on the connector up first before trying to pass it through
Ive always changed my engine and gearbox oil just before a trackday using manufacturer recommend grade and specification, opie oils are good for recommending grades for different useage but unless its highly tuned i would think they would suggest keep using 5w40
Ive got a 52 reg 172 cup and bought an uprated mount, got round to fitting it today but the problem is my car has the smaller straight mount the same as a ph1 but my car is a ph2... is this renault being cheap and using up left over parts when they moved to the ph2 or has something been changed...
Had a quick read up about this security chip and it looks like it might be going ahead so will just have to wait and see, still going for the xbox though as forza 5 looks brilliant
Just wondering if anyone knows whether my fanatec csr steering wheel will work on the xbox one, i know its a long shot but i'll be abit gutted if it dont considering it'll be £600+ worth of gear being out of date
Cooksports are not all their cracked up to be in my opinion, too stiff to enjoy country lanes.. the rears feel like your driving on bump stops, I think cup springs and dampers is what you would prefer
sweet, ive got a small box single exit exhaust i need to put on the turbo, got a metal head gasket on it now so i'll turn the boost up and take it out with you when you got the clio run in, compare it against my clio too
Re: 52 172 cup, Update Cooksports fitted etc. Few pics

Went to an autocar private test day at Blyton Park last month, was good to watch them comparing a new KTM 450SX...
Brake discs very rarely warp mate, you will have an uneven pad material buildup on your discs, possibly from holding the handbrake on to clean up the disc
Finally got a bit of spare time today to get gearbox oil changed and fitted a skoda splitter... also bought a meguiers headlight restore kit and took off the front upper grille, wing mirror covers and trim off the rear bumper to spray gloss black.
pic of one headlight restored, its not perfect...
Also saw this on barrier bank between peterborough and spalding, the road that runs along side the a16
Clio 1.5 DCI
God knows how it happened as the road there is as straight as an arrow for a good mile, looked really bad though, blood on the roof lining etc.
little update since last time i was on, nothing much happening yet as ive been really busy at work, got some new plates, engine and gearbox oil and some new plugs from G172... also bought an omp subframe to fit a bride bucket to the drivers side, will get pics when i finally get round to fitting.
Just thought id put a couple of pics of my recently aquired 172 cup. Its done 82k with full history plus the belts were done 3k ago :)
Its got a ktec induction and apex springs I think? (yellow)
Not much plans at the min as ive got an mr-2 I drive too but I will probably get some AD08's and...
Its not whiskey so don't waste your money, as long as it meets or exceeds ACEA, API standards etc.. there wont be any problems using it, just stick with fully synthetic, its proven to reduce high wear areas by atleast 30%, rings, bores etc.
Re did the whole job again today checking everything step by step, still ran rough and stalled when it warmed up, it pulled fine when on full throttle though so took it to my friends garage for him to do the job again for me tomorrow morning, told him the symptoms etc. Got code reader out which...
Im going to re do it today to see if I can find any problems, I can't see it being the timing because like I said the marks line up fine and I've re checked it twice, it doesn't seem to have lost any power because I raced my mates mk1 focus rs and could only just keep up like before
Well ive checked the timing and it lines up so I cant see that being the problem, ive done timing belts on plenty of cars before so know how to do them
