Current scoob owner looking to downsize

Thousands of topics like this so I'll keep it short. * Budget £500 - £650 for a cambelt on AC models * Running gear/engine/suspension/exhaust/door cars/seats are specific to the Renaultsport models. Prices are hardly astronomical though. * Day-to-day with the odd bit of fun = average 35mpg *...

LMFAO. Whoever coined the phrase "CS never forgets" deserves a medal.

Passenger end of the dash. Pretty big cover. Can't miss it :D Which of the many fuses however - no idea!

    1.2 clio street basser project

Yobs? I'm sorry, have you seen what's in your boot? :rasp: Must cause rear seat passengers genuine discomfort as well lol. Like what you've done witht he carbon effect speaker covers (well, mounts, they are no longer covers) Are they 6.5" up front? Looks pretty nice & clean though. Think the...

    Snow Damage! HELP! :'(

Damage to wallet - a hundred or two for a second hand bumper, a bit more if it needs spraying. Damage to insurance premium if someone else/council want to claim from your insurance - £500 or so if you don't claim only notify. £1000 (and thus losing your pride & joy) ish if you loose NCB...

2002 cup - too good to be true?

Shame about the lack of Turinis. The cambelt could potentially be due as well. Still, that's a very good price for the south/south-east considering the mileage.

i Sold my rwd escort cosworth 400bhp to get a clio 172 ?? did i do the right thing ??

Re: i Sold my rwd escort cosworth 400bhp to get a clio 172 ?? did i do the right thin Did I do the right thing? Well in terms of epic & awesome, IMO no. The most epic thing on here, IMO, is a Super Touring spec Clio built from the ex works Laguna BTCC cars. IMO that Escort is more epic...

    Anti freeze help!

"OAT" stands for something which I can't remember! The technical term is G11 and is usually pink in colour (as per your pic). Supposed to last 10 years before needing replacement (though who is comfortable with the idea of 10 year old fluid in their car? not me...) OAT uses relatively modern...

    Anti freeze help!

I absolutely 100% do not know for certain. However... you'd have to assume an F4R takes OAT/pink/G11 SURELY? Will be interesting to here of any F4R specific advice from the usual, Fred, Danny etc

FK Lowering Springs, 60mm drop. Good Idea? HELP PLEASE

Fairly/very bad idea in terms of the lifespan of your standard (???) shocks.

    PI Lowering Spring Picture Thread

Sorry, thought I made it clear. I'm not expressing any opinion/fact on whether they're good or not, just commenting on why they won't be the new sportlines. Comparatively unknown brand & low price = the (often correct) assumption that they won't be as good. If they turn out to be excellent for...

    21.7 MPG Something wrong?

Coolant temp sensor, if not already mentioned/ruled out, would commonly cause overfuelling thus a poor MPG.

A Clio dci to 172 melody

Unless the insurance was mega, why not sell the DCI for a 172 box? Hey presto instead of a slow 172 rep you actually have a err 172? I totally understand the attraction of the DCI's MPG & insurance/tax costs though.

    Got an amazing MK3

Guaranteed any changes will make it worse lol. Except maybe a wheel refurb. Those might only really work when infront of a multicoloured building?

    PI Lowering Spring Picture Thread

Judging by the price and therefore perceived quality, no lol.

    Got an amazing MK3

Search saves the day! "Bozzi" (ipodsandguns) has some brilliant pics in his thread! http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?595729-Bozzi-s-Dynamic-S&highlight=bozzi That car pulls off that look really well. Puts all the other posers/camber-and-stretched-tyre-idiots to shame.

    THESEXPISTOL's Black 2.2 Clio 1.5 dCi 100bhp (Pic heavy)

Welcome to the forum, car looks great! I think the ride height is spot on, must suprise a lot of people too with the remap! Do you mind me asking where you're posting from? We don't have this model in the UK (we have the DCI 100 but not with those wheels & red seats) 137.5 MPH indicated on...

    Speed Camera Detector

Couldn't be more wrong if your name was Jordi17! :rasp: DETECTORS are LEGAL. JAMMERS (or any sort of blocking or interferrance device) are ILLEGAL. In this country (unlike Norway (?) where they hide them in wheely-bins etc) you have to be warned of all speed cameras by signs etc and they...

How NOT to deal with a tailgater

Reminds me of the "close call" Lotus/MX5 video. That corolla (lol jk, I know the difference between a 2 door sports coupe and a 3/5 door hatch :rasp: ) made one hell of a bang! Don't assume everyone is as stupid & dangerous as yourself.

Does anyone know this RB 182 ?

I'm sorry, HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN ON THIS FORUM LOL? Beggars belief. If I had a pound for every time "72k or 5 years" has been written on this forum... Can you actually read or do you just guess at what all these words people write mean? Fair enough - I completely understodd those who prefer...

    update with lows.

Would look (& drive) a thousand times better with proper sized tyres. Stretched/scene/dub/ruidebwoi/halfords-car-park-crew look tyres devalue the very very nice looking wheels IMO!

Speaker connectors - is there a "standard" type?

Just a really simple bit of knowledge that I lack! Always assumed but never known for sure. Is this an ISO/DIN/some-sort-of-standard speaker connector? (awful picture warning!) Are there any particular makes (GM?) which do not use this type of connector (I know renault DO) Thanks

Does anyone know this RB 182 ?

Just to check - all ph2 172 & 182s and all colours (even BG) should have these stickers yeah?
  25. S

Does anyone know this RB 182 ?

Out of curiosity (not arguing) how did you arrive at 8k a year being average mileage, and 6k for the first two? Have I missed something or is this just gauged from your (years of!) experience with RS Clios?
  26. S

    The work begins...

Just to reassure the splitter queries... There are no "standard" brackets as such, renault just screwed it straight into the plastic underside of the bumper. You can do the same. Get some "self taping" screws from B&Q etc if you live in an ideal world. The splitter needs about 3" cutting off...

    Is it worth it?

Have a look in the for sale section, this site undervalues RS Clios massively until it comes to selling their own! There's a BG Clio on ebay/here. I appreciate the massive engine spec, but let me know when someone pays 10k for a 7 year old 182. My other pet peeve is CS always forgets the £1000...

JVC Head Unit - remote wire sub/amp problem, help!

It's not difficult per say it's just sometimes simple things aren't obvious. E.g. on Alpines you have to "enable" the subwoofer outputs in the settings menu before any sound will come out. TBH it doesn't sound likely for a Pioneer, but worth a go: This is the user manual for your HU...

    Car speaker installation

See replies in your other thread r.e. tweeter/woofer fitment http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?623239-Component-Speakers&p=8412878#post8412878 I couldn't see an answer to the bit about crossovers, but essentially you're spot on. There will be a bit of customer wiring needed so...

That's the cheapest you'll see them to be honest. Incidentally I've just thought of three relavent benefits of joining cliosport.net properly: 1) You can look in the "For Sale" section and see adverts for them 2) Full members get free next day delivery from CAD :) 3) A certain trader who...
