There is a little U-shape tool included with the Renault jacking kit. Should be in a little pouch, velcroed to the right hand side of your boot.
You could of course use loads of things, but the little Renault tool is the right size, isn't sharp and you should have one already etc.
It'd be polite to call first & maybe he'd be more inclined to help as he could make sure a mechanic is available at the time you will turn up etc
On the other hand if you waltz into a forecourt with a completely f***** car on the back ofa trailor that is only 2 weeks old on a busy saturday...
TBH I haven't ever found it useful, but then it depends entirely on what you're buying.
It ranges from silly (as in 80%) on really obscure filters that presumably no-one buys to barely noticeable, to lots of things that it can't be used on e.g. the decent bulbs.
EDIT: Sorry didn't notice you...
Onto an insurance/tax/MPG winner with the DCI though! Colour coding will improve it massively (take a look at the stickied "modified non-sports" thread in general discussion (I think) for ideas)
Personally think the wheels are far too shiny, but then I dislike anything dub/scene/lowz/JDM...
EDIT: Forget all that. Just re-read it and realised what the whole 6.5" thing was about :p
Well done for identifying RMS. On a related note a "max output" of 50w on a headunit usually means an RMS of around 16 - 22w RMS depending on the quality of the headunit. Needless to say the speakers...
The standard cup setup is literally class (and aftermarket) leading in terms of soaking up bumps & providing a suitable amount of roll stiffness on a B road.
The only thing cheap coilovers are is hard. There is far more to suspension geometry than just having hard shocks. They are therefore...
Re: Clio Bargins.
£12 membership to CS.
* Made me aware of skoda splitter - saved ~£100 over renault one
* Bumper removal guide - saved probably an hour (I despise all things trim/clip/plastic related)
* Link to recommended Xenon bulbs for £17 - saved god knows how much over OEM
* Resource for...
TBF if he's a CS member... he may have seen some of the other ebay **** that gets linked.
I reckon half of the Clio's unreliable rep is just from idiots/pikeys buying all the absolutely s*** ebay examples of PH1 for £950.
Yes that is a PH1 interior. The "renaultsport" stitching on the PH2 is in white, not multicoloured.
Is it just me who looks at ebay ads and thinks "f*** buying a car from someone who can't spell" or "f*** buying off of someone who thinks a clear front end smash constitutes 'ok condition'...
Will be interesting to see how well a cheap OBD2 tool works on track. Response time (not just time, consistency) of speed & RPM in particular looks very poor. Presumably this is the "fault" of the android app given the OBD2 reader plugs straight into the CANBUS...
Still it's a bit of fun & if...
In the top picture, is it safe to assume that the top two lights go out if you put a seatbelt on and shut the door? (serious question)
Top picture is emmisions. This can be caused by a failing/loose cat/mani joint, so could potentially just need a bolt (you'll actually need the complete kit -...
That does look exactly like it, though I don't memorise part numbers :p TBH, as with any genuine renault bits, you may as well go to your local renault dealer as you'll get it by 9am tommorow providing you order before the cut off time. Prefferably support the forum & it's traders (the traders...
Everyone here does it for looks.
If you want to widen the track for performance purposes then you fabricate new wishbones/driveshafts/custom suspension pickup points/etc. Widening it via spacers affects the geometry in a slightly different way.
Strictly speaking spacers reduce the roll centre...
Genuine renault one was £27 from my local dealer this summer just gone. Paste isn't specifically recommended by renault, nor is there any noticeable amount on as standard. Can't hurt to put a little bit on though. For the extra 23 minutes it takes, stick it up as high as you can on axel stands...
Some are very obvious but have so far passed you by!
* Spellcheck (e.g. specification)
* Drivers airbag twice
* Passenger airbag + 4 airbags? Just say in one go "Driver, passenger and side airbags"
* 6k since a service is only halfway till the next so it's not exactly due (unless book says 12k...
I saw an ancient Mitsubishi Pajero (or something - not your usual rudeboi car anyway...) the other day:
* Monster sticker
* 4" tailpipe (guestimate, could've been bigger)
* "RESCUE" stickers subtly, but all over. Not noticable official "rescue" stickers, more MS Word 2003 word art...
But that still doesn't explain why it's maroon...?
This isn't nasty CS :p I'm sure everyone commenting in this thread does want it to turn out to be a Williams for the sake of the owner.
Out of pure curiosity how on earth do they measure that? :eek:
Is that £1 per square inch? £1 per inch of wheel diameter (can't see a set of 182 wheels costing £64 though!) Do they attempt to work out the entire surface area including spokes, lip, centre etc?
Always disconnect the negative (black) terminal of the battery when doing anything electrical. There will be a small spark when you reconnect the battery, this is normal. Bear in mind this will reset headunit settings, time, date etc so if you've spent hours perfecting your audio then note down...
Wheels aren't my thing but it's really good to see something different (i.e. not banded steel "y0 luk at me im french dUB" or fake GT wheels or Turinis/2118s/172/182 wheels) and I think the colour of them is perfect. Car overall looks really good!
I'm sure you've thought of this already but to...
LOL?!?!
Forget the insurance fraud, where do these people come from that think slapping massive racing stripes over a completely standard car makes it look good!?!?!
P.S. As I've already said I thought the 1.2 looked pretty sick, blue/white colour coding looked great, standard bumper suited it...
Re: Clio sport convertion!
You missed another crucial detail. The width. One of your stripes is wide enough to embaress a Dodge Viper GTS, circa 3 times wider than your average stripe. Therefore that's power gained^3
You still have to pay the normal amount extra for declaring them, just you...
Might want to fill in a few details, it's understandable if you missed them out because you're stressed though.
Things like the stainless exhaust (& the fact it's a Yozza!), steering wheel retrim, cup packs. Otherwise it'll probably just get overlooked, asking £5500 for a 182 that isn't a...
