Apart from being completely wrong (see below & previous) lol at "obvious statement is obvious" :rasp:
* Mileage is BELOW AVERAGE
* Service history/condition is far more important than mileage, especially on these cars
* Widely accepted that the F4R engines get better with age
Serious question...
Skoda splitter comes extremely highly recommended for cheap err thrills...
Seriously for £11 you can't complain at the front being an inch lower to the ground & finishing off the front bumper nicely. Made a massive different to my 182.
Excuse me, and apologies for not having much to add, but how is it cheaper to insure a "modified car" now you have a "performance" exhaust rather than a standard one?
I don't know if you've spotted it but there's an RS192 group buy on at the moment. Utter bargain at £299 delivered if the "not...
Sportlines (softer than the prolines) + standard shocks will be a much better option than raceland coilovers if you're not wanting to add the line "slammed to da grownd only scrapes arches a bit gets lowds of luks everywer u go real hed turner" to the advert when you sell the car OR (more...
Anti hijack button? This is the wide/short one with the padlock on it presumably (on hazard light panel IIRC?)
The amount of times my mates used to f*** about with that thinking it was funny to stop my other friends from getting in the car. Thank f*** the doors never got shut with me outside...
Completely from memory as I haven't done it since march & don't have a 182 anymore. It's exactly like any other car, nothing to look out for in particular. It's either a twist & pull or just a straight pull.
* The drivers side is an absolute b**** to get your hands into due to stuffing a 2.0L...
Sticking a 75 degree thermostat in does not neccessarily mean it will run 16 degrees cooler all the time, only that the thermostat opens 16 degrees earlier. Not to mention there is a good minute or so time delay between a thermostat being put in 71 degree fluid and a thermostat opening, by which...
Didn't k-tec used to sell a body kit to go with the awful spoiler that they still sell? http://www.k-tecracing.com/show_product.asp?id=1577&appid=2
That is the k-tec spoiler but you can also see a s*** bodykit on the car. I thought they used to sell the bodykit too but maybe I'm imagining that...

This. If they were somehow the originals and actually had some history to them (which could be on the website) about how they were built, aquired, imported from the US etc then fair enough, but as far as I can tell it's just a random bloke has made some (accurate) reps?
I'm sure that was up for 4k the other week. CS should offer a consultancy service, saving traders time and increasing their turnover.
We suggest two prices "what it's actually worth" (this could be "best offers" I suppose) and a "what a member of clioclub would pay for it" buy-it-now.
EDIT...
EFA.
Though I have noticed the older I get the more modifications I can actually get quotes on. When I was 17 no-one was interested in roll cages, but 4 years older even Admiral/Elephant/etc will offer me a quote.
I'm afraid about half of the people in this thread are wrong. OP is about as far from scotland as you can get.
Whilst £2000-£2500 might get you a mint PH2 in scotland it will barely get you any autotrader results for PH2s in Southampton nevermind price, mileage or condition. Add £1000 to that...
Oh another tip - don't buy from a price comparison website lol, for me they all added about a £100 commission on top of my 182 premium. They're fine for getting an idea of who is cheap and who to forget about, but get quotes straight from their website/phone.
Seems the £1400 is a fairly...
I think this is more a case of looking at the insurance form and thinking "how can I make this work best for me whilst being truthful." I'm not suggesting pay £600 to get insured on your mum's 1.2 shopping trolley to make your 2.0L cheaper to insure, but if you already happen to be insured on...
Oh I agree. I went for the software4students win7 upgrade last month. I had some other reasons but at £40 "why not?" is a perfectly good way of justifying it. Do it.
You have to burn it as an "ISO image" to the disc so it's a bit different as you can't use windows or nero etc but it's perfectly...
TBH owning a 182 FF at 19 was epic. 5000 RPM is a joy. Handling is incredible. Looks brilliant. Sense of pride & achievement knowing it was 100% mine, my money, my hardwork, no-one elses, was massive. Comfort & sophistication compared to the usual 10 year old student car is off the scale...
Just watched a few onboards on youtube. Great sense of humour those two have! "Bloody left into escort right" and "wheeeeyyy catch it, and the other way, well done, try and miss the sign.. oh dear, carry on" were funny but the one that really made me LOL was "see that man in the red hat? he...
LOL ^^^. There is absolutely loads of this sort of topic, already been answered a thousand times. Have a search: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/search.php
Here's a few quick bits of advice though:
* Work out what you can realistically afford. It's better to have a mint Ph1 than a knackered Ph2...
TBH from the user's point of view it looks exactly the same, bar a few little new menus or features. What you don't realise until your a few months in is that, unlike vista, it isn't regularly a pain to deal with. May as well get the 64bit version whilst you're there as well to future-proof...
Essentially two parts to the MOT steering wheel/airbag query:
1) Airbags only have to work if fitted. So you won't fail on that aspect.
2) Instant MOT fail if the airbag light is on. Obviously the airbag computer will turn the light on when you remove the airbag, but it can be turned off again...
I don't care if people want to put something at a silly price and wait a few months for the inevitable idiot who will pay it, but trolling around CS telling people they're "f***ing idiots u dnt ave a clue u will neva get £650 for dem recaros der worth max £400 ill give u £425 cash can collect...
Out of interest Sam, when did you insure a T at 19 for under a grand? Your sort of comment is all well and good but if car insurance is going up by 30/40/70/whatever% each year and this was 2 years ago then it might not be useful in today's market. It'd be a bit like me saying I bought a Freddo...
1) The PH1 172 has a cable throttle. All newer versions are fly by wire.
2) Nope, you've misinterpreted that by quite a long way. The 182 cup is a lighter (no leather, no climate control, no cruise control, no split folding seats, cheap 1.2 steering wheel, no xenons etc) go faster version. As...
