Re: Clio sport convertion!
I have virtually everything possible in my favour (postcode, 2yr NCB, car on drive, use of another car, no mods, high excess, limited mileage, no commuting, no business use, 3 lower risk drivers on policy, use of another car) and paid £1350 last march for a 182 (was...
Re: Clio sport convertion!
Presumably taxed incorrectly is actually the same as not taxed. As in, it is not legally taxed. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/UntaxedVehicle/DG_4022073
LOL at paying £1100 for insurance that is meaningless. If you're going to pay that much, may...
LOL at some of the quotes people get for repairing stuff but but just claim they CBA. Not just this advert though. At least this advertiser can spell!
If a keyfob battery costs £12, the dent costs £25 painted, a boot switch £5 and a new wing mirror £30 and it's all as simple as the advert...
Re: Clio sport convertion!
I think the 1.2 looks really nice, a bit of colour coding, perfect ride height & an interesting colour. Shame it ended on it's roof! In contrast the local-rude-boi-spec "172" looks well... errr... umm
I take it you didn't claim for the 1.2 then/tell them the new one...
This.
Copper phone lines vary massively depending on where you live and the accuracy of some of the estimates leave much to be desired. For most people it seems "upto 20 Mb" actually means more like 6.5 to 8. Fibre however doesn't suffer from quite the same "distance from telephone exchange"...
EDIT: LOL, scrap all of that. All been covered about except the BS rolling road.
A user can callibrate a RR to say whatever they want it to say. There is one particular company known for ridiculous RR claims that RR'd a member's 172 at 160 BHP (a bit low but we'll see where this goes) standard...
People are missing the point of the thread. Yes, he should have bought a stainless one. However...
In the UK buying cheap you should expect lower quality but it is still, by law, required to function for a "reasonable" length of time. Yes he should buy a higher quality product but in the mean...
Either that's an absolutely s***e camera/lighting or your front left is beyond illegal lol. I suspect/hope it's the former.
R.E. Wheels, lowering & spacing. The 172/Dynamique wheels tend to look a bit s*** in white as the spokes are too wide. White looks great on multispoke GT/touring car...
Have to agree with the OP, I've never really thought Anthracite Turinis suited BG, especially when lowered. They just look a bit small and if anything "dirty" compared to the lovely shine of a freshly cleaned BG.
Welcome to CS,
Fair few people in and around Dorset. http://www.cliosport.net/forum/group.php?groupid=9 or http://www.cliosport.net/forum/group.php?groupid=11
For lowering there are two options, firstly lowering springs. These are a straight swap with the current springs but their compressed...
Didn't someone on here (Daniel?) take a car in part ex the other day with little history that turned out it had been running on cooking oil instead of engine oil for the last year?
Obviously a stupid example, but this just shows how stupid some people are. The older Ph1 are often attractive to...
This.
However I am positive that the Ph2 is also available with a "sport" package. It was in the Clio brochure (which only covers the Ph2!) that I had with my 182.
Back to the OP, one thing that hasn't really been mentioned is that the exhausts are silly, silly money from renault (circa starts with a 7...) so that's where the majority of the "cost" is.
Get an aftermarket stainless for half the price, higher quality and more than twice the lifespan. Or get...
Only being entered in 2 competitions & no mention of a spares package seems a bit odd. Sounds like he's gone to sell his 182 Cup and thought "I know, if I cage/strip/TB/LSD/4 pot it, then I can sell it for 4 to 5 times the price" or bought one with the intention of converting it & selling for...
Alternatively you can just make some indentations in the skoda splitter (the plastic is really soft as I'm sure you've noticed) where the rivets are.
Definitely gonna take the bumper off next time just so I can do it sat down in the warm... :)
Clearly there is a huge moral difference between straight up not declaring something and it just not occuring to tell them/forgetting (e.g. windscreen replacements xx years ago).
I don't know about anyone else but when I'm paying so much money to insure my car I f****** want to get it right...
Re: 3 Stages of my 1.6 Clio
Ah, should of mentioned that the monster sticker had come off & that the front tints are going - will look much better! I think the 182 wheels looked alright, shame that they have to go because of insurance (but then the state of car insurance is just a shame...
Is that defined as "proper" stance? (srs question because everything looks the same to me except it's an old golf, wheels are the right size, seats are nice and arch gap is spot on.)
I appreciate the hardwork & money that went into that car. However all I see (besides the exceptions stated...
I fear this sort of thing, whilst the mistake is probably very common (especially the windscreen claim example), can only ever end badly. The insurance company will be keen to point out that:
1) it's in the policy booklet/terms & conditions
2) it's on the website (iirc it says 'have you had any...
I suppose if you join without lurking then you're not going to know about the OEM+ taste of the forum. Equally when you first think "clio forum" you probably expect euro/halfords car park/monster stickers etc. I don't think the world Clio conjures up the "any age can drive an RS" attitude, Sachs...
Re: 3 Stages of my 1.6 Clio
F.L.O.L. Maybe we should turn the "why monster?" thread into a pics thread...
And it was going so well up till now, horrendous wheels had gone, megane wheels on, lexus lights gone, acceptable tints, strangley acceptable exhaust!
The combination of a monster...
