Can't make it out too well on the photo, is the gap just at the front, on the entire length to the back of the compressor housing?
Did you have a picture, before? what did you ask him to do/wrong with it?
Some of my fondest / strangest memories are collecting cars with Jim. Either mine or his. It makes me laugh even thinking about some of them now.
Pretty sure it would have made a great YouTube channel.

Had a look at that, it's Ollie's old car on here.
Spoke to the seller via ebay, it has changed hands 3 times since Ollie sold it.
I'd be interested at £4k, especially since the box has to be swapped out & it needs brake pipes, but no chance at £5k.
This week, I'll be mostly fancying a low boost turbo 172/182.
I have a few questions.
1) Do you have one, is it for sale
c) Did the clioturbo/greer versions all blow up, or does someone still have one. How do you tell these apart from the engine dynamics variants.
4) Approximate costs for...
I thought it seemed a fair deal. Then the £1700 disclosure, maybe not so. In hindsight, they're likely be throwing these things at people post-covid, but not that you were to know that + that might not be the reality.
If the kids ruining your previous car was a concern, then the cost of...
My flywheel is OEM had done about 80k road miles. (not a clio).
I then doubled the horsepower with a turbo & threw a paddle clutch on there + matching pressure plate.
The clutch was used, so it wasn't massively happy at the new power level & it's a 4 paddle so a bit heavy on the knees. I've...
I turned the boost up and it doesn't half go. Totally different than it first came. It felt pretty rapid on boost.
However, the idle issue/bogging at low revs has returned. You can rev past it low down and it drives fine past 2k but I've now run out of spares, money and enthusiasm.
It went...
Here it is now. The panels I haven't had painted have a couple of years of outside filth on them, so not sure what it'll all look like when it's had a deep cut.
If you look to the first post in the thread on page 1, you can see what it looked like before.
I've turned the boost up a...
Shakedown version 2 wasn't very successful.
- Idled light rubbish again, bogging & mis-firing.
Turns out I'd put the wrong coil pack back on. Idiot.
Changed the plugs in all of this. They're pretty coked up.
- Then noticed an oil leak from the turbo return. Took it off, to see there is no...
HomePlugs can be hit & miss, but it's better to have to restart them than struggle for long periods with poor wifi connectivity.
I use the ones with 'pass-through' so you don't loose a plug socket, but they seem to be more temperamental than the more traditional ones. They lose layer 2...
They've tried all that. Using the names, etc but they are just the same gear underneath. They made a Gordonini Clio 200? and it was just a paint job and a badge.
I mean, adopting retro styling. Fashion's rotate, cars just seem to stick to linear. Their just mainstream stuff is no different to...
It won't happen, but a revolutionary idea to keep with a previous post about how car firms used to innovate, would be to do re-runs.
Not just putting out 100 Renault 5's as the tooling would be cost prohibitive, but maybe resurrection of a 'good' sports line and then fitting modern running gear...
