Good thinking batman!
Is it a big job hacking off a floppy for a CD drive? See, the works laptop is an old Toghbook. Its good as it can take the stick on the vans, and has a dedicated RS232 port, as some of the equipment we use is a bit funny running usb/serial converters
Ah, so thats why it didnt work, see told you i'm a tool!
So will the install file be on my current laptop (already has this program i want to swap over)
I wish it had a CD rom drive, i have the install CD upstairs :( :(
I ran my car on H&R coilovers for about 12 months, then thought i'd try some spacers. They made the car horrible, very twtichy/nervous under braking. Lurched all over the place. Think about it, if there was any gain to be had the 200 would have had an increased track (like a 172 cup did) over a...
Its not worth £4500, what ever you think......
I'd put VERY good money on the one i sold in the summer being in better condition. Who cares about lightweight exhausts ???
Got a (cheap) lappy for work mainly for diagnotic works. I have the programs on my current laptop, however my works lappy has a floppy disc drive :o Now it has usb, so i presume i can copy over the programs i need of this laptop to my works via usb........
So i want to copy all the files in...
Is your car a proper cup?
I has no black side mouldings?
If its a cup packed normal 200, it wont have them. If its a proper Cup (no O/S temp guage/pikey dash) it will have the badges
Not being funny fella, but i'd seriously not consider buying one with out a contingency budget. I mean a cambelt on a proper cup (no ac) is only around £300 ish.......
Ah, so they can read different finishes then? I presumed they only gave a reading of total depth?
So, hypothetical, if a panel has had a blow over, these metres would record a thicker paint finish?
can see how you could work out how much you've removed, but if its only giving an overall paint depth, what use is that if the clear coat is already dangerously too thin to work on......... How would you know?
Just browsing through tread WD's and noted the various readings around the Golf he detailed. So do these metre readings give an overall paint depth reading, or just the clear coat?
Be careful with trying to find the parts in the right colour. I replaced a door on my old Cup, and it didnt match. Had to get the whole side blown over. Personally i'd just find any old 172/182 Bumper and drive it round till the spring.

Give these places a RING, sure they can help!
Not the end of the world though is it? Could have been a quarter panel for instance. Then bits bolt off/on. I'd personally bend the bonnet back, source a 2nd hand bumper and headlight. Done. Then once the winters gone, get any paint that needs doing sorted. To get you by, that'll cost a couple...
Accidents happen mate, but its nothing to do with the car........... You drive to the conditions. If you ploughed into a wall its your fault. Harsh but true.
Exactly, i ran a cup through 5 winters, no problems what so ever. You drive to the conditions. ABS wont help in the snow.
On another note its BMW drivers i lol at, watching the news yesterday, every car that was being pushed was one ;)
