Go for the Futura only about £20 per seat more, I have been pleased with mine for the money.
As for the FIA approval they must have met the requirements at one point.
That's what I did as I wanted the project but it has probably cost me a lot more than buying a car already sorted, doing it this way you will learn a lot more as well.
Been messing with the camera over the last week.
Fitted the lens back to standard and it worked so then tried it with the extension again and it played up, so turned the extension lead around and it all seen fine now.
I will give it a try for a few days and see how it goes.
I've used bathroom sealant on my focus St before because I could not find the other high temp stuff I had and it was fine for over 2 years when I removed it to sell the car.
Why get a old / basic car to do more miles in.
If I had to spend longer in the car everyday I would want a upgrade more comfort etc how about something like a Skoda Octavia VRS TDI would be more car for your money than a BMW.
Why get rid of the ST anyway, the amount of money you would lose...
Go for it Mark , I love my orange wheels
The shifter isn't to bad when you rest your hand on it while driving (on the road that is)
Worth the noise for the improved gear change
It is hard work to get some they sell out the same day they have stock, if I do decide to get some coilovers mine will be for sale but will not be for a couple of months.
Here's mine
They are very good for the money sits nice never had no rubbing on the track with et35 wheels (and et43 +16mm spacers grey wheels), I find them a bit bumpy on the road but I only drive the car to and from the track so it does not bother me.
Not sure how they compare to average...
Easy enough to sort just buy some cheap foam cut it out in a circle the size of the tyre and fit on the alloy face inside the wheel bag, it will not move as it would be trapped by the bag around the tyre
The plates just fit on the underside of the floor and pulled tight with the eyebolt, put a bit of silicone on it though to stop water getting in.
Got the sticker off eBay, found someone who was selling a small one in the correct font and asked them to make a big one
For mounting on the harness bar you just remove the snap buckle and then wrap it around the bar (I used this guide )
and for the lap belts I used this guide http://www.msar.co.uk/pdf/UsersGuideRacingHarness.pdf for the angles and drilled holes in the floor and fitted the spreader plates and eye...
I use the Skoda ones for my 18 inch winter/summer wheels and tyres and for some 15 inch track wheels and they are fine for both.
No Skoda branding on them just Black and a logo for what corner they are for on the car
Part number is ZGBUB000073900 Think I paid about £22
Now the engine is out take it to get belts and dephaser done would be much cheaper as less labour.
Is the battery the powervamp one for £50 with bracket?
get them from JJC http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-x-RSA-FIA-MSA-Approved-Harness-Seat-Belt-Eyebolt-Back-Backing-Stress-Plate-/371167531413?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item566b4f1195
