Glad you've gone down the AST route, you know they're proven so aside from the customer service aspect which will be sorted soon enough, they are a safe and quick bet! ;) What ones did you go for?
Also regarding the full nut/bolt refresh, is it really worth it? Surely just spanner...
Yeah budgie on here can whip them out the top with the engine still in, bit fiddly but manageable. And that's with no ramps, just a jack, axle stands and a bag of tools.
Personally I wouldn't go back to them out of principle, they want to mess people about then they'll have to deal with not finding a clio trader to sell their exhausts. May be a drop in the ocean with regards to sales but I wouldn't be going there.
Looks unbelievable Dan, whats the history like on the car? Pm me if needs be. Have a mega soft spot for the Mk1's, the arches and the engine caracter make the car. Something the Mk2's lack completely.
It's not about forgetting Danny, thing is every specialist will have their favourite parts that they sell. And they will always say that theirs are better than other the brands/products on the market. It's not that I don't believe what you say, just can't comment as I've never used the pads you...
Lol. He uses it mainly for the road Fred, so CL's are a bit pointless really. EBC Bluestuffs for road/odd trackday, CL RC6's for track/race IN MY OPINION obviously. ;)
Naturally you and Danny both advise using the pads you guys stock which is fair, I've driven on DS2500's and didnt think much...
EBC bluestuff pads with brembo HC's, bleed the brake system with some new ATE superblue. That will do you perfectly for what you want the car for and for a very reasonable price.
Looks great fun, looks like just the right amount of power to fly around there at full throttle 100% of the time which is sometimes more fun I find.
Nick
Suspension is what makes you quick, sell other not so needed stuff to fund better suspension. This is what I'm doing on my race car, had AST 1's but having been offered a good price on them I'll now be pursuing AST 2's.
Ah right that's fair, very good that you tried that also! Needs people like yourself Mike to play with all these little types of options that seemingly other tuners aren't interested in doing!
