Get out the car. Lock it with the fob. Wait 30sec. Unlock with the fob. Start the ignition.
If you notice the imobiliser doesnt disarm try the above incase you interupted the sequence. Might help?
Thats not a fault. It just means you were too quick to lock the car after stopping as theres about a 5~15sec delay before it knows you have stopped the car. So bleeps = car still thinks its running and uve locked it basically.
Have you checked if your immobiliser light is still blinking when...
Nope passes MOTs and services, you name it. Im guessing its not a requirement for them to be working just be present. Same as the rear window washer can be blocked and still pass MOTs.
Jun the closest ive found is "Curley" a member on here who lives in Coventry. But again it involves driving to Coventry in the morning and being without your car for about 9hrs. Im still looking for others as thats still alittle far out of the way :(
^ Told you it was epic fail :)
I just dont understand his mentality of "i have s**t credit, i couldnt get finance" which is stupid as Carcraft arent a finance company so if they can get you finance then pretty much any dealer or garage will also be able to sort something out!
Anyway im glad...
Figured i would bite the bullet and just drive to work in limp mode but managed to make it all the way to work with no warning lights or limp mode. The car is now fine for now. Result as im still waiting for Schweppys part :)
Well normally dont do these kind of posts but pretty speechless about this. My friend stumbled accross this and figured he would share it with me seeing how its Clio related.
*fail*
Deffinately worth reading through.
Summary: Guys showing off his new car, guy is embarrassed by how much he...
Lol bit late now! Oh well i will keep that in mind for future thanks pete.
Ive never heard anyone else on here mention them before however. I thought the closest decent renault specialist we had was Hillpower over near Tamworth?
Bought from Schweppy thanks for that. Ive been quoted by the garage about £90 for 2hrs labour and resetting of the ECU, testing etc.
Time to twiddle my fingers and see if this works!
Without the belt change (which is due every 5yrs or 72k) id say 4k at the most for that year and mileage.
As for inspection. When it comes to 172s be sure to check the headlights. They should be automatic, self-leveling xenons (with ballast packs) and washer jets. If any of these dont work...
Well they must have ragged it to note on the service report "knock under hard acceleration - suspect engine mount" as something i need to look out for in the future. Even i didnt know it did that!
No other warning light than the 1 pictured in the middle of this *pic* (stole someone elses pic...
The garage in question is a member of: http://www.boschcarservice.co.uk/ chain. So isnt even a dodgy backstreet guy in a shed style.
The response to my complaint was: "Electrical faults such as this are intermittent. It was probably there all along and we merely highlighted it not caused it."...
Garage called.
Said its the accelerator pedal assembly (or whatever the units called) thats at fault and i need a new one which i have to pay for. Fair enough. What i dont get is how was i able to drive the car around for hundreds of miles with no error codes and then after being worked on by...
£1600 for a Ph2 172 is deffinately a bargain. Even if you ended up with a list of faults anything short of needing an engine rebuild would get you a Ph2 for Ph1 money!
Well clearing the errors didnt work. It happened again when i tried to drive to work this morning so i took it straight back to the garage first thing and im now driving some crappy Peugeot deisel thing urgh.
I suppose i better lube up ready?
Well it happened AGAIN!
Started driving home from work and immediately noticed the fault light was back and the car was once again in Limp mode. Managed to drive it back the short 3min commute and called in at the garage that did the work to show them and ask wtf!
Connected it up and got the...
Hi all,
Just had a full service and belts changed to the tune of £603 at a local garage. Went to drive to work this morning and down the road noticed i had a nice warning light (the heartbeat monitor and coil symbol looking one) and the car refused to go above 2.5k revs regardless of gear...
Yeah but its a tried and tested methods for making Ph1s look better on the cheap. Would you rather see the above with lexarse lights and angel eye headlights, silly bore backbox etc?
Very tidy. Looks standard apart from the exhaust.
I recommend you consider lowering it next. Im also in two minds about the splitter. Yes it suits the Ph1 but it looks like all the other none Sport splitters on basic Clios :(
Im 25 (was 24 when i took this policy) with 1yr ncb and only started driving in Nov 07.
Only cost me an extra £350 to upgrade from a 1.4 16 Si to a 172. Go figure.
Run past the dithering old fool, jump in his crap wagon and park the friggen thing for him. Job done. (provided you did indeed leave a big enough gap otherwise crash his car into yours proving him right)
...... Or come rant on the CS boards in the real world :)
