you need to get on Clio16valver.net and get hunting for a used one. What's your manifold budget? Cast manifolds flow bad enough as is, let alone log manifolds, let alone adapted manifolds.
almost sure there was a guy who built a rally car from his original MK1 rally car engine (F7P/R on ITBs). It was a CAT D/C MK2Ph2 shell that he built up into a rally car. Do some searching.
yes, KTEC sell em, it's a easy to do on a 182. The second lambda sensor may throw up an emissions warning light on the dash and it's probable that the car won't pass an MOT till you put the original cat back in.
Worth it? yes
^ Hero PDF man tbqfh.
You got anymore accurate pin-out information on the interior loom connections in the engine bay jord? I need to know what's what and I think I've got a very old PDF of yours, but I don't think it's complete.
F3P 1.8 8v - probably not, but a similar lump to the volvo turbo lump so someone will know something
F7P 1.8 16v (valver) - Yes, theres a rally car in project threads, theres an F7P turbo about to go into a MK2, theres more too. Straightforward tbh. 137bhp, or williams F7R 150bhp and plenty...
see my project thread. Mine was 550. Equal length 316 stainless (the best) custom job. Jon Deeley, really nice guy. postcode NN13 5NU. Give it some thought.
Been given an air compressor. It's only 25 litre but it's a 2hp direct drive oil type (no rubber diaphragm) which is good.
I wanted to change the oil in it as i'm having to run the compressor for several mins at a tiime. I found an american wesbite that says they take 30 weight "non detergent"...
LOL @ 340 from a 28R, that's pretty much top 28RS figures.
Have you considered a proper manifold and some decent management? Some of the torque curves i've seen from current log mani-OEM ECU F7P turbos are really nasty.
Either way, the car is going to be a weapon!
also, if anyone has any tips for head porting (even though i've already started) let me know. I think I'll leave the inlets if they match the manifold ok.
Also, massive thanks to ben who got me an air compressor for free last week! really pleased with it, even though it's small, it's free
Slight change of direction due to budget
I expected to have a little more cash to be finishing this project with :dapprove: It's got a bit silly now and i'm having to make cutbacks wherever I can. I won't be using the conrods I've got for this first build of the car. I literally can't afford to...
That's my plan too atm jez. Can't afford a proper paddle clutch atm so VR6 and G60 fly it is. Just struggling to find a G60 flywheel in this part of the country. It's ridiculous. They are all WAY tup north.
Update in a min
noice. You gonna get it a nice manifold? You'd need a boost control valve to control boost level on that as it doesent have an adjustable actuator. (this is to the best of my knowledge :D)
your wise to go one step at a time. I've always liked the idea of switchable maps i have to say but people who are 'in the industry' seem to take the piss a bit. 'Why would you need more than one map once you'd got one perfect?' I hear alot. The answer, of course is that it makes it easy to try...
Omex is a good option with lots of support for the F4R engine in particular. F0xy seems to be one of the few people on here who has actually put some research into the different systems and not just bought Omex because everyone else has it, so it may be worth asking him if he thinks there is a...
almost definitely wheel balancing if it's at that speed. Bear in mind that wheel weights can fall off which will cause unbalanced wheels. Take it back to where you had the tyres put on and if the tyres are relatively new they may balance again for free.
for all renaults efforts, these are not very popular cars really are they. I've seen 1 on the road I think. Loads of GTs, but FA of the 133.
Everyone thinks, hmmm, nice car, could do with a bit more power. They really should've gone for a 1.4 turbo to help the tuning possibilities imo
when you go from 14s to 20s that's going to completely upset the gear ratios. Bet it's actually difficult to pull away in the fuckin thing, and he's probably changing down for hills on the motorway.
yeah. That the guy that owned that MK4 certinally drank enough. Nope, bart and his dad just finished a really nice G60 rallye. Some nice engineering gone into it. The guy with the M3 was there too. Was a good weekend :D
