It's emissions. If it's not a spark problem but it very hesitant and jerky on part throttle then it's probably a lambda sensor.
If you've got 2 lambdas in it, replace the upstream first, or have it plugged in to see which the ECU is complaining about.
can I ask:
Do I need a legit copy of vista to make these work as they are an upgrade?
Could it be done with a funny (as in not ha ha) copy of XP?
I'd be wanting the pro version probably.
consider trying a blowtorch on the caliper, heat the whole thing up, then use something direct to cool the nipple (tee he), spray duster (CO2) or plumbers freeze spray would do it, or a water pistol or something. You might just be able to turn it with a flathead if you could get a grove in it...
No point in replacing track rod ends unless your MOT finds excess play in which case you'll have to replace them. Same goes for ball joints.
Chamber bolts is a good cheap mod to make the car a little keener.
wrong section really unless you want to put up more of a build thread.
Nice tho, can I ask what's going on in the engine bay there. What's that carb off and what's the tank above it? What's the rules?
yes Renault and VW and some others use a 4x100 PCD(provided the wheels are 4 stud)
Renault use a 60.1 centre bore and VW use a 57.1
Offsets may be a a slight issue but unlikely.
not straight answer really. The original spec was good for about 340, then I had money troubles, the new spec is good for around 280.
I hope to fit my forged rods, drop the compression, stronger clutch, and 430/440cc injectors and go for the limit of the turbo which is safely around 340, but...
It's defo the thermostat. Really really common problem on a lot of cars. Your car is giving you poor economy because the cylinder thermal efficiency is down due to the engine being cold and also the ECU will be richening up the mixture.
thanks for all the comments. Also forgot to mention i've had the VW oil pressure switch port drilled and tapped to M14 to accept the standard valver oil pressure sensor. I thought that was a bit of a touch :D
they are cheap cheap cheap.
Reckon ben paid £450 for the mintest 340 in the country (sub 40k, one owner from new).
he then bought another for nothing just for some bits!
Just thought, issues may be the sump clearing the crossmember. Ben has had to use a volvo 1.7 sump on the F7P to clear the...
there was a CAT-D one on here ages ago, someone found pictures of the crash, wonder if it's the same car.
I think it's a little much for a CAT-D car. I paid 2500 for my 40K 172Ph2 2 years ago. Was a great car though. Real bargain.
I sold my valver engine to a mate who has put it in his volvo 340.
He's wondering if he can upgrade to an F4R 172 lump. I don't see why it would be any harder than a valver engine. The volvo transfer box would slot on just the same as the valver engine.
Has it been done? any reason why it...
First things first, the driveshaft story.
The idea is to end up with driveshafts of just the right length, that don't touch the chassis legs at any point in the suspension travel with a renault outboard CV and a VW inboard CV
Separated out the renault shaft from the outboard CV
Also managed...
