why can't your mechanic do a diagnostic on it?

they redesigned them in about 2006 to sort the issue out, was down to angle on a plunger or something stupid like that. only time i've come across one that's rattled on cold start has been down to oil, change and fine. solenoids can give issue but they tend to cause cutting out on idle from cold.

sounds a fun one, i'd go for unplug the drive first and see if it still does it. if it does check back lights, doubt it would be caused by them but the fuel pump is earthed through one side so it wouldn't surprise me though.

Wouldn't bother getting dephaser changed.

bit like a rubber mushroom/butt plug.

valves might have a bit too much camber :wink:

am guessing the engine was probably first used in the early 1990s and will of had hydraulic pas, reno will of just used the basics of the engine for the clio and changed head etc. auxiliary set up afik stayed the same?

reset the switch. any other codes as this can come on a lot as a ghost code.

this was possibly the first one? it's the early type he did, the newest one is the third one. got a pic of yours? main difference on the first two is the inlet is slightly bigger on the second one.

mine did 201bhp on standard cams with the first type of inlet he did.

That's a normal alternator, cup one is different.

nope, you can get better custom fabricated for a lot less than you'd expect.

that's how it works. if you don't take the quote up there and then after a day or two it jumps up. the perils of online quotes.
