    iOS "must have" apps

Re: iPhone "must have" apps Teamviewer is a good free option. You don't need to be on the same network either as it goes through the internet.

You do get a lot of pixels to crop into though! I still want a 2x MkIII extender, but my supplier can't get one at a decent price yet.

The "Ive taken a pic and I kinda like it" thread

Depending on what I am shooting, I'll either focus with the centre point and recompose, or shift the focus point on the camera and take the shot as it is. My camera is not so good with the off centre focus points, which means that most of the time it a recompose effort. If your camera has an...

    Dell BSOD please help

A mate of mine had a similar issue and it was due to the heat sink on the cooler being completely clogged which meant instant overheating. Open it up and vacuum the heatsink and cooler fan, it might help.

    ND16 Filter

Good to hear that the colour cast is easy to remove. I have also seen some people say that the welding glass colour cast is very tough to remove so I think it's probably worth paying the extra for a Lee filter. :)

    ND16 Filter

A question to those with the big stopper... Do you have much of a colour cast on your photos? I have read mixed reports from people with some say that the cameras auto balance corrects it and others finding that they have to do it in post. Just curious for when my bank account has recovered...

    Competition Help

Boats in a tidal harbour, lying on their side etc? Buy a fish from somewhere and stick it on the mud as if it had been left behind when the tide went out? Even better if you can prop it up with some sticks (then 'shop them out) to make it look like it is floundering out of water. or Get...

    Ripping DVD's to NAS

400 will take a long time to rip! It might be more efficient to just download them already done, depending on your internet connection of course. For ripping, DVDFab does a good job, but it struggles with some of the new copy protected DVD's.

    Google's internet speed

You say that, but once you've had faster, you can't imagine putting up with a slower speed. I had a problem with my connection this week and could only get 50Mb/s. It felt horribly slow compared to usual just as I am used to being able to find a show or film in HD quality an to have it...

    Google's internet speed

Impressive. I am curious what the standard will be in 5 years time. I had to recable my house to get the full speed from my internet connection I only had a 100mb/s connection with the router and internet is 120mb/s. A couple of years ago, that would be unthinkable! Roll on 1GB/s downloads. :)

    Camera Accessories Thread

Rucksack for taking kit along when snowboarding, mountain biking or going on holiday and the shoulder bag for day to day use when everything doesn't need to come along. The rucksack is too tricky to get stuff out of quickly, but you don't have that problem with the slingshots.

    Proxy/VPN - remaining anonymous

Very, but only to a point. i.e. you knock on the wrong door or piss off the wrong people/ government and they'll probably be able to get you. If it is just to hide your browsing habits or for cheating in games, surveys and competitions online, then you are probably safe.
