Agreed but I don't think the OP is wanting to fork out thousands for a bit of torque though. I think an RS2 can be had for Sub 2K, ITB's alone without a map is over 2K.
Porting is ok, but for the money, such as needing the belts etc done at the same time, you might as well chuck cams and a remap in there, you'll be looking at over a grand for the job, RS2 seems the way forward with this.
Porting won't be as effective as an RS2 either.
Jesus it was only yesterday, Check the CV joints first, jack the car up and try and lift the wheels, see if there is any play, you'll throw hundreds at a stealer for them trying to find the problem.
Some exhausts are required to move or they can break also at the mounts otherwise, I'd check before putting solid ones in like the Prima ones, probably ok for a 172 but a 182 they have to be able to move.
Cat2u are the cheapest, they are around the £100 mark and sometimes under.
Pic of the hole? should make a right racket with a hole in it, should sound like a touring car.
in that case any 172 Decat will fit, saying that I just checked ebay and there are none wtf is up with that, a 172 Owner is required in case they are different, I know the Manifold is but someone will be along soon with advice.
DCI is a better punt, just nicer to drive, better on fuel etc insurance should be no different if you for a 50 or 80 model, 80 is a much better engine though.
Go for a Decat, You'll need a cat incase Vosa find you and order a retest, mot the next year, but it's worth it for £60. for the Lamda sensor just get a big metal tie and tie it around the decat itself, lights never come on then.
Back pressure is just needed to eliminate lag isn't it? Turbo or SC'd only. Get a decent decat and straight through pipe none of this baffled crap. Mwm have some good prices on rs2 and cams etc if you've got deep pockets thats whered id go rather than itbs.
Given the fact you aren't going to be zooming around tracks etc you won't really need the performance of Coilovers anyway, why not just get some Cooksports Springs or the like and Slam it, which is what lowering is all about not putting Coilovers on, different purpose imo.
^ Well that's exactly the problem not all 17's are the same size, buying random 17's out of the back of Revs magazine like so many back in the day encountered exactly that, to the point where garages had arch rollers readily available, Rule of thumb however was also was to get the skinniest...
The Scandinavian flick will also help, Right hand turn coming up throw it to the left then right and watch what happens afterwards, Sideways all the way round.
Just thought I'd put this out there, Guy at my Work has KTECs loner car the mo, the Zorst on there is pretty damn good, looks smart with the Slash cut, non rolled tips and fit's spot on, perfect spacing and isn't tremendously loud at all.
Surely it's no different a discussion to...... I want to get more power from my 1.2 which always gets the answer, Buy a 172? Anyway I was joking.
I'd actually prefer to have a chat on here about stuff Like Chernobyl or the Russian Mega Nuke where the force was so high it sent a shock around the...
Not sure on Diesel but the coolant temp sensor would be the one that would be setting it off if anything, it's either in the radiator or in the water bottle itself, I'm sure Derv Destroyer could tell us as he's had his one to bits several times.
FFS I need to learn to read, I thought he was buying the ones that for sale here, in that case why the f**k does it matter, someone will buy them they, one mans s**t is another mans treasure, and OP if you're selling them why care? you're selling them for a reason right? getting smaller wheels...
You'll need to take it off, It's at the bottom of the lump below the cambelt attached to the waterpump, it'll piss water when you take it off, but just put it in boiling water when it's out and see if it moves / opens. if the gasket get's stuck to the pump you'll need a new one mind but they are...
Dude you got an RS Tuner? I'm sure that pulls the engine timing up ( Won't fix it ) and it does live data? if you can do a run with it flat out and take some screen shots, post them up and we can compare if you can't afford to take it to anyone.
Think the question for the OP is....... Why do you want the 17's for that exact wheel? or because it's the biggest you can fit on the car before it needs chopping?
Personally it's something you'll regret imo, tyres are twice the price and will be so uncomfortable with tyres thinner than...
