Sounds like the Manifold issue I had, bolt springs snapped off and the bolts were hanging out, issue being they are hard to see unless you have a ramp but was the last thing I had looked at. easy as to change though.
What year is it? I take it it's the latest shape?
When I worked in Sales for Renault in 2004-5, they all just had electrical issues, nothing I can recall from the engine ( except the 3.5 V6 ) but the lump itself was alright from record, Sat navs, Air con, Electric steering all went tits up...
Well there is a world of information at his fingers tips on this issue right here alone, it's discussed every week so hard to miss. there are no savings to be had going to the likes of Dan, BTM, Rentech etc, maybe £50 tops, unless his mate is the guy who thinks they don't ever need changing from...
Yeah but you need cam end seals again as they brake on removal, but it will cost so always best to pay for it to be done properly.
Unlike my old Astra where I held it all together with cable ties, I learn that from a master tech at VX Heathrow! Bodgers everywhere.
Easy to tell mate. Switch on it will idle bang on a visual 1k normally its slightly lower. How bad is the morning kangarooing? Since the map mine has practically stopped. If it's bouncing all over the road when you try and maintain a steady say 10mph in 1st then its most likely isn't.
Re: Something squeaking when clutch pressed in
Found some lads near me who reckon they'll do a clutch on this for £299, they quite new to be honest, young guys etc. had two mates have an Aygo and KA done there, no probs, no damage to any parts that are visible ( like driveshafts and gaiters )
Mate I'm 27, got the car at 26 and swiftcover did not like it at all, said I had to be 27 to be insured on the car normally but given my awesome car history I got a horrible quote of £800 on the thing, was cheaper to Insure my MK3 Astra GSI and declaring it had a C20LET, Cammed, Greddy Turbo +...
Everymarket has a number plate maker, they all run by pikeys and will make whatever plates you want no questions asked, just need to leave the keyboard for an hour or so.
If he can get one and read the ECU it can be done as it's already explained and I still have the stuff from Henk but needs the Tuner first, if of course decides to do it.
Indeed it is, someone at work has the new Clio, just a 1.2 TCE I think, been back for warranty work 4 times and that stupid screen which let's face it they stole the idea from VW Sirocco is just plain crap, doesn't even look flush or like it's meant to fit, then there is the issue of those...
remember you had to have a set one of these and use the correct calibration for whatever one you had, I had to mail Henk a shot of my ECU data for the calibration, should apply in the reverse when taking someone elses back up.

I'd imagine you'd just get in running on the higher octane and then just upload the map, not sure what happens to the car if it's on 95 but wouldn't imagine it will cause any issues.
There were 2 types on original maps though, you'd need to know which one you had, I have mine still. can you remember what is was Deer Dodger? I can send mine over by email if it helps.
I'd actually think so, you'd need another tuner for sure and to unlock it ( personally I think it's a con you should be able to have a license for your car, technically the code the person you sold it to would be the one to unlock it again as it's per chassis number. and you should have the...
Easy job to do yourself mate, just use a jack to support the engine, contact Renault Wolverhampton ( dealer on here ) prices are actually quite good. or fleabay.
Best bet in all fairness, can't remember the name but a trader on here actually refurbs them for around £120 and the pics looked like awesome work too, or get on ebay, down the breakers and try your luck with one being broken.
yeah, a lot of people look at a built in unit and then hate the whole interior and to quote 6 people I know at least, " can't change the stereo, the interior is sh*t in this car" why that makes it crap is beyond me. Fiesta has an awesome interior same as the new Focus, and I hate all fords.
