id get an aftermarket braided one. I've just changed mine due to corrosion on the steel part under the car (its all one pipe from under the drivers seat to the fuel rail) - it was the shittest job I've done in a while, I was 20 minutes away from taking the engine out lol it was about £120 from...
a few things worth exploring or looking into:
The base cars that the RenaultSport models are based on are generally nice handling cars, so starting with a good chassis design is always a good start.
The constant evolution of the cars, ph1 172, ph2 172, 172 cup, 182, 182 cup, 182 trophy, 197...
That's running on 3x cylinders. Unplug the injectors one at a time and see what one you can unplug with no change. Check the wiring to that injector (since you have said you have already changed all 4)
If that doesn't highlight an issue, replace (or swap cylinders) the plug and lead - To rule...
my thought process from that was a duff ABS sensor starting to give a slightly lower reading, not causing any issues as its within tolerances, but now its showing up due to the car having more lock than expected on the steering angle sensor throwing it just out of spec.
Purely a theory as I'm...
Id have thought if it was activating the ABS that's going to be due to it sensing a slower than expected speed so thinking you are starting to get lockup. Does it only do it at slow speeds? Id check the live data and make sure the sensors are all reading correctly in a straight line.
ah ok, yeah it must detect the different from expected wheel speeds due to more lock being dialled in, frustrating but there will be a solution I'm sure!
worth noting that none of my RSTuner tuned cars have had an EML come on, or any fault code stored for having no cat. - theres nothing that specifically mentioned that its been mapped out but i would assume it is, as my old standard one used to come on every few weeks (i just had a bluetooth OBD...
I once fitted a set of AP coilovers to a mk2 and had a knocking from the rear, I went over everything 10x, rear shocks back off, they looked identical to Renault dampers in dimensions on both ends where they mount to the car, used the Renault rubber top mounts, swapped to the genuine dampers...
To be fair, My MOT testers are always deep in discussion about things, every day is a school day for them! I always tell them if in doubt, Pass and advise.
for me, as long as budget can accommodate then a facelift trophy with heated leather, i had one in LY and it was a fantastic thing to live with.
mine didn't have the Akrapovic and tbh because they don't video too well, the sound they make in videos with an akra is the way they sound without in...
yeah so that's why you want to make sure they are pressed on tight, so when the motors reset to off it doesn't cause them to move and become inaccurate
I've got EPAS on my van, it doesn't feel as nice as the HPAS but the thing FLYS though the revs, I've never had a 172/182 that revs the way it does, and its a standard engine.
makes getting the engine out easier too which is handy if you enjoy that sort of thing lol
Yeah not hard enough onto the motor so its moving. The calibration test doesnt actually calibrate it, just lets you move the dial to make sure its hitting the correct points 10, 20, 30 etc
the needles pressed onto the motors properly? whenever I do a set, I fire it up and run the calibration test so they are set properly, ensure they are pressed down onto the motor properly and that's all they need.
Are all the exterior lights working? I'm sure I've come across a problem before with no interior lights and it was a blown fuse due to wiring on one of the exterior lights, it was years ago
pretty reliable and cheap to fix when they do go wrong. You have to remember though its a 15+ Year old car, its going to have odd issues here and there, some parts are going to be harder to find (rear ABS sensors and handbrake cables come to mind)
looks good, much nicer sitting a little lower. Really enjoyed my time in my 220. Id wrap that front blade black, i think that would set the front end off nicely
