See here how on the cat the gasket is extruding from the end, so when bolted on seals the join, whereas on the decat the gasket was sitting flush/slightly inside the lip? Basically used an angle grinder and grinded down the lip until it was flush with the flange bit with the holes in it. So...

Mine did this. Just ignored it then next time I filled up with petrol it went off, and worked fine ever since. A few have had this issue iirc.

Loads of people run the rears without adjusters in and haven't had any problems iirc.

LOL. Yea mate they just pull out. You can pull on the +/- Wire attached the holder if your gentle, and can't get your hand right in there. At least you've got it sorted now!
