Yea I live quite far away too. Although they should just send us a new one, if its shorter than should be.
But yea, if you own an angle grinder or know someone with one, its easy. Just grind it down. Then again I did fit the exhaust myself, so knew what I was doing.
Also make sure you use a new...
See here how on the cat the gasket is extruding from the end, so when bolted on seals the join,
whereas on the decat the gasket was sitting flush/slightly inside the lip?
Basically used an angle grinder and grinded down the lip until it was flush with the flange bit with the holes in it.
So...
I had to grind the flange back on mine.
Regarding OP, just get a new Genuine Renault Manifold > cat Gasket kit with spring bolts, and make sure the flange is ground down.

At the end of the day the Michelin's will be best, but that's what you pay for.
And ultimately like you said, it comes down to what you need from a tyre.
When I worked there I never had any back lol.
And got two sets myself. You just gotta make sure the terminals are screwed on tight.
But yea either will do.
LOL. Yea mate they just pull out. You can pull on the +/- Wire attached the holder if your gentle, and can't get your hand right in there.
At least you've got it sorted now!
