Ok how can I check the bearing?

Surely if its a bearing there'll be a wobble in the wheel?

I cant SEE it rubbing anything. But it sure as hell is makin a whole lotta noise from somewhere!

Theres no wobble in the wheel at all though. The bearing feels tight enough. If the wheels are the wrong offset why would it only start now over a year after I had them on?

Whatever came of that guy and his car? Cant seem to find the thread!

You dont really hear it until you go over 25/30mph

2001 1.2 16V Lowered 35mm onto 17' wheels. Not sure of the offset. It runs constantly an dgets worse the faster I go! I feel it is mostly coming from the drivers side with a little bit from the other side.

had it jacked up today, the wheels def arent rubbing off anything. It also isn't a dodgy bearing and i've tried other smaller wheels on it and still it rubs! Help!!!

How much would I be paying for one and how awkward is it to get the CV boot on as mine are wrecked??

Anyone taken this task on by themselves? If so how difficult is it to do and are any specialist tools needed?

At first mine was intermittent but it got steadily worse and worse. Wiring loom damage was the problem!

Few weeks now, its drivin me up the bloody wall. How easy is it to get those splash guards out?

I had this problem and guess what caused it? Damage to the main wiring loom which had to be replaced to the tune of £350. Apparently this is not uncommon!

Its been lowered 35mm and has 17 inch wheels fitted. Could the wheels be buffing against the splashguards under the arches? It makes the noise similar to when you put a coke can on the tyre of a bmx to make it sound like a motorbike and is driving me mental! Its def not a wheel bearing and...

Problem diagnosed...damaged wiring loom. GRRRRRRRR.

Ok guys coil pack and plugs changed, still the same... What else could it be?
