I think only 5000 series prevent corrosion. But 7075 is not that bad at all. I use on brakes past and no problems. Imo they fail because of over tighten the bolts, that is how pressed aluminium looks like.
I am using the 300mm brackets from @OssPoop and since my Clio is a daily car, I drove it in rain and snow anytime.
The quality is just spot on, really just give them a coat of paint and install.
Very good and solid bracket, I will remove them this Spring and repaint them if something is not...
I will try to find someone with Clip, as I only have the Delphi 150e and RSTuner. The idea is that RS tuner finds each module, as now no ABS is found. The fuses are fine, so should either be a wiring problem, may be cause by how I lift a little the engine to can work on the aux kit, or the ABS...
But without any sign? just let the car for about 3 days with battery disconnected and then no ABS.
I will take a look on the plug there, clean and check again. Literally no sign of something wrong.
Hello,
Last week I have removed the aux belt in order to replace the steering pump. Also the alternator was noisy so I get a new one. Together with those bits I also put a new top engine mount. After all of this, when I attach the negative terminal and start the car I get the ABS, SERV and ESP...
Just receive a new gift
And a busy day because the aux belt side became noisy and after remove the belt I figure out that the steering pump is leaking, the idler pulley and tensionar are worn, and also the alternator does not spin freely. So...
-new steering pump
-new alternator
-new aux kit...
Yes, it is steel. I work about two hours to straighten it back, as it was bend. It is really good steel plate there. Very few rust spots on a 15 years old steel plate.
I bought a 65mm TB, but not a modified one, an original VDO one. After the AFR meter will be in place I will test it.
Yes, it is genuine Renault one. The 172 and 182 does have all the holes for this guard. 4 does have threaded insert, the other 6 does not, but you have access to use a nylon nut. I only use 8 screws.
Thanks,
Radu
Hi mate,
Please understand us, you can only use the 182 dephaser pulley for your application.
The vvt from 197 can only be used with pwm impulse and the ecu set the duty cycle, over a value means r****d the cam, under that value means advance the cam. The 172 and 182 ecu could only turn off and...
Happy new year!
I just add an oil catch can onto my Clio. Soon will be added a fatty induction with Ramair filter and alloy elbow pipe, just removing the stock airbox.
Also, new cams for the turbo engine arrived.
The oil catch tank was a cheap ebay one, but with some bits inside. A pipe that...
Hello,
Can anyone help me with something regarding oil catch tank?
Can the return from the oil tank be connected to intake manifold? Or it is better to leave it in atmosphere?
Thanks,
Radu
As a summary:
If you use 197 internals, including the head on the standard Ecu, you need:
197 head
197 pistons
197 or 172 rods (are the same)
197 or 172 crank (197 is better)
182 or 172 dephaser only
182 or 172 dephaser and Ecu remap
1600rpm mate
On stock Ecu you can use ONLY 172/182 dephaser.
The remap is around £300.
There is no need for forged rods if you will use 197 pistons with 197 head as the compression ratio will be around 11.5 to 11.7 :1 (if surface the head)
No, Chris can revert the signal (binary type) of the stock 172 ecu. Pwm is only for 197 one.
You can only use on off signal for 172 ecu. So only 172 vvt and solenoid with reverted action.
More specific, as around 1600 now (with 172 head) it is switched on, and on the 197 head because of...
Need to use the 182 vvt and 182 vvt solenoid and change from ecu at Chris.
LaterEdit:
It does fit and has the correct oil ways if its action is reverted from Ecu. So the 182 dephaser and solenoid is the right setup.
IMO, after reading a lot about this conversion, I will stick my 197 head for...
You can't use the 197 dephaser as with standard ecu you cannot use pwm signal for vvt solenoid. Recent information I got from facebook is that Chris at Efi could change the action in the stock ecu to accept the 197 head oil feeds.
So you have to remap the ecu ar first before running it (would...
Cheap cold air intake.
Since ktr intake damaged my throttle body in 30k miles I ended up using stock intake with a little custom pipe.
And for those who ask how ktr intake damaged my tb...
A lot of dirt goes through the ktr air filter. I always (6k miles) clean and oil the filter, but ended up...
The 2 pot caliper has one 40mm diameter piston and one 45mm diameter piston. The volume of brake fluid to move them is smaller than the brembo one where are four 40mm diameter pistons. Although I have never use them with standard master cylinder, the free play 99% should be there. With the...
