Hello,
When I rebuild my engine I was forced to remove 0.15mm from the head and 0.05mm from the engine block for having a good surface.
Does this skimming of 0.2mm increase the CR so much that I need to remap the car?
Thanks,
Radu
I will resurface the bloc by 0.05mm to have a better contact with the head and new gasket. Full ARP inside, main, rod and head and reassemble everything this month.
Thanks for all parts, mate
Make this gasket for a good fit of the plenum.
Rebuild a pair of Brembos
Reuse the oem brake pistons, just a small touch.
Clean waterpump pulley
Clean, rust convert and paint the engine block.
Soon I will make adapters to can fit Brembos, hope they will came up nice as they will be home...
If you race your engine and holds good I will choose king. It is no better opition than one given by someone that use that product.
I fully rebuild the engine, new oem gaskets, new oil pump and chain, new rings, fully rebuild head with new valves, springs, tappets and rollers. So I will choose...
Hi,
Does anyone grind tangs on bearings to fit them into standard engine?
I rebuild my engine and want acl bearinga, but they all have tangs. Or have you got any other recommandation for bearings?
Thanks,
Radu
There was a post on Fb with almost 200hp from 197 cams and the setup was also posted there. But he has no air con and no steering pump, so if you got both you loose some, but not much. If I find the post I will reply.
You got a lot of oem bits for detailing it as good as possible and keep the original look, so imo I will stick with refurb oem brakes, add new brembo HC discs and ds2500 pads. Very very good pads for fast road.
Your car looks amazing!
You can't mix them, because the caliper has a fix position, so using 280mm will not help you. There were some here using 20mm spacers on et43 wheels and could fit this calipers on 15". The problem is that I sold the 15 alloys to can check this.
Hi,
I've read topics regarding the headbolts but nothing was helpful. I see that engine-dynamics got headbolts at half price compared to oem ones. Does anyone use aftermarket head bolts for the 172 Clio?
I am fully rebuild my engine, but it is a stock engine use as a daily, so cheaper parts...
This question again, I've read the manual and says 25Nm + 110deg. Is this right? I know the ARP's torque for this bolts is 57Nm so the standard toque seems to be way higher.

Repaint in the cam cover and a small test fit.
A clear coat and good to go
The welding:)
And the milling for screw head
And test fit the inlet
Thanks,
Radu
That gap remains the same, if one time it is good it will always be. There were some guys that says engine mount could be the problem, lol.
Good you sort it out with this one.
Does that shaft fit? As I can see it is not the Renault one and I think you will got some issues with the inner boot. I replace my shaft about 4 time and the only way to proper install a shaft on the driver side was to use genuine one.
