wow, been such a long time since ive updated this thread so i thought id update it for who all those who care.
After the sound system above was finished i kept it for a few months and got tired of having no boot and just gettin bored of it. So i sold it all on. To be honest i was gettin bored...
lol, would cost you a bomb to develope, then you'd have all sorts of problems!
speaking from experience we have spent millions on chain systems at Jag and years of development has gone in!
not worth it for the effort! esp on a 1.2
looking good. i prefer the suzuka's over the imola's more lateral support. better for track work imo.
the suzuka's are pretty much the evolutions but without the head restraints, which ive had in the past and i didnt benefit from them at all.
agreed ^ you can see the logic and for a low boost cheap setup then its an alternative to the conventional method. But anyone who is serious about wanting more power (eg worthwhile boost) would have to go the conventional way.
both methods have pro's and con's and both have thier place. The...
std power is 168 bhp.
from having my inlets done i gained 8bhp & 8lbft this was done with a proper test, eg before and after rolling road run. same day, same rollers, test done within about 3hours of each other.
with a remap possibly a little more possible. i had ss exh too.
i cant remember the exact figure but i recal something like for every 2-3deg C of inlet temp you'l lose 10% of power. as i say cant remember if those figures are 100% accurate but you get the idea!
keep your eyes open for second hand stuff, i have itb's on my 172 and got it all second hand, paid around £1800 for the lot, including fitting and setup!
i agree, cant run the breather to itb's!
Still got the cold air feed in because i cant be bothered to remove it! perhaps ones day! i guess it keeps the bay a bit cooler, but probably not. next time im doing something on the car i'll pull it out
i work as a prototype engine builder for jag, but have just moved departments and now i run a test cell running the engines that i used to build. trying to get a full set of skills. been here 7years now. Fabrication is a skill we use all the time so knocking this up was fairly simple...im lucky...
does any have this kind of information. a mate at work needs this and i said id ask. if you do then let me know please and i can put him in touch with you.
Gratefully appreciated!
Hi all, since my ITB's were put on the breather hose at the rear of the cam cover has been venting into atmosphere and everynow n then a tiny drop of oil will drip out into the engine bay.
So i decided that i should make my own oil catch tank, Ihad thse before in Mocal form and ive seen some...
no it wont damage it, thats what the rev limiter is for but i wouldnt be hitting that all day every day, it wont be doing you any favours.
peak torque is before 7k on a std 172 anyway so no real need to hit the limiter.
