I know its not want you want to hear, but I can always tell a car thats been smoked in as soon as I open the door.
Why do people feel the need to do it?
When I was looking for my 172, I was put off two cars coz the previous owners had smoked.
Cant they just wait til they finish their...
I just removed the two nuts off the top of the suspension arms, put the brace on and then tightened them back up.
I think the reason for the "damage" as you put is because the turrents are slightly narrower than the collars on the brace hence the movement. I think had the turrents been a few...
I spoke to my old man about it last nite and what you mentioned before and he said that it was nothing to be concerned about.
Hence mine is still fitted and has been for a couple of weeks now. Prolly done about 1500 miles since it was fitted. The squeaking seems to have settled down now too.
Yeah,
I drove up to Liverpool over the weekend, and going thru the specs cameras on the M6 I based the 40mph limit on the b2, the car speedo said 45ish I think.
Everyone was still zipping past hehe, heres hoping they get tickets.
On jap cars, there is a big thing made about exhaust manifolds, and they can release some quite high figures.
One particular brand, HotShot, make quite a few. So my questions is can you get any for the 172? Or is the exhaust manifold already that good that you cant gain any more?
I certainly wouldnt run it all day on 95RON, most run 172s on fuels in the following order of popularity:-
Optimax (98 RON)
BP Ultimate (97.6 RON)
Superunleaded (97 RON)
Unleaded (95 RON)
The short answer is yes....
However the parts are expensive from Reno, and hard to get hold of second hand.
I think Liam_Dynamique was looking at doing it to his.
Ive got a mk2 172 boot spoiler I am thinking of selling if it might be of any use to you?
All you have to do tho is put three rubber gromets into the holes when you remove the strut brace and the average person would never know any different.
Got one here ready to fit, but like Fred said, you have to drill 3 holes in the top of each suspension turrent.
Im considering getting them body coloured to match the car before fitting them.
I spoke to a tuning company and they were saying that they would be very wary about fitting a decat pipe now. They said that they have heard of a number of people getting stopped and emissions tested at the side of the road, and if the car fails, then it is impounded and the driver is fined etc...

Shamelessly stolen from the cliosport gallery :)
How much is a 2003 172 spoiler worth?
Im considering replacing it with the Renault "Double Spoiler" so to lighten the costs Id be selling the standard 172 spoiler.
