yep, they shouldnt be asking about cat 2, when they know it has a cat1 system, they are talking rubbish. If you have the etching too on the windows and the window stickers then you sound to have a UK destined car.

if its a UK 172 it has a standard cat 1 system. Immobilser and alarm. No need for mention of cat 2.

there is confusion here. Cat2 part of the system is the immobiliser, the cat 1 part is the alarm on top of the immobiliser. Therefore if a system is cat 2 it will be thatcham immobiler only. Cat 1 means immobiliser and thatcham alarm. does that make sense?

thats correct. you have to buy the laser add on to get the same as road angel 2. Although the compact shows speed limt as you approach cameras. Talk from balckspot of a software upgrade to allow this to work on the road angel 2 too. Ill email them now see if there is an update on this.

Optimax from new also. Even got dealer to put in before I took delivery of car. Only ever missed one fill up with optimax and even then used £10 worth of BP ultimate to get me to a shell station. :)
