You want to know the oil temp in the engine, not at the coolest point but where it is likely to seperate so the block or where you have it just now would be my advice.
On my Impreza I have a oil temp sensor on the block next to No.3 cylinder which is next to the turbo to let me know the hottest...

I'm looking into oil coolers myself as mine will be turbo'd so will be running slightly hotter again. 140 is very high so a cooler will be needed I think.
My mate just got a White golf r and I love it. Cant understand why the scirocco never came with 4wd if the golf did? Nice looking car though I must say!

You dont need anything. Just use some silicone adhesive to attach some 100mm ducting to the rear. That's how mine is done and still attached fine after many trackdays and removal of the bumper.
Can anyone tell me what engine sensor differences there are on a clio 1*2 and a megane 225 engine?
I see there are extra cable on my 172 loom than sensors on the 225 engine.
