If i had my 1.2 still id go for Brembo HC discs and Ferodo premier pads from Halfords.
Discs from online, and pads like i say from Halfords, although standard discs and pads are absolutely fine tbh, just depends if you think you need the upgrade.
Was going to go outside and do some work on the car but its chucking it down now :banghead:
Anyone have there side air box hose removed, with no ill effect? sounds stupid but you do hear of people saying the car felt sluggish etc.
I put 172 alloys on my 1.2 and i had rubbing on the rears, now i think about it it was a fair bit and that was only 195 width tyres, im fairly sure some 182 alloys run 205 width... so some 5mm spacers on the rear would probably work... i only had rubbing on the rears, mainly when going round...
1) Yes they will fit, my 172 alloys rubbed slightly on the back when on my 1.2 but not much... the width of my tyres where 195, so if your running 205 they might rub a bit.
2) You can fit the upper grill from a sport but not the lower
3) Look in the guides section for a spraying guide, failing...
Im local, used to spend a lot of time down the Squadron with my grandad, but i cant make it tomorrow sadly.
Make sure you look left and right before crossing the run way ;)
Just read from the start mate, looks like you took on a lot of work and tackled it nicely!
Shame about the steering pump, but seeing as everything else is shaping up its just a bump in the road i guess...
Yeah i did think about a Espace box (i think thats the model) but couldnt find any, so found a cheap ITG panel filter, cars running fine for me at the moment, got more important things to sort like the exhaust, but was just wondering about this...
Haha i think ill leave the bottom one in Daniel ;) its just seeing as the side hose isnt attached to the Acoustic valve any more, and just pointing down not that far and also next to some wiring i think ill remove it but i want to see if anyone else it running the same as what im after.
Just seen a thread where someone has there upper Acoustic valve air feed missing... and seen sparked my original thoughts to remove the hose.
I know where are two CAF's, one at the bottom and one leading to the Acoustic valve... seeing as my Acoustic valve has been removed and the air feed left...
I've just had to put a new v clamp on my cat to center silencer, i used 200c locite gasket sealant....
I think this is the wrong stuff because when i checked it seemed to all have burnt away, what locite sealant is correct? the copper one?
"Treated" to Wonder wheels to get the insides of the wheels clean, the rim wax to seal them.
Belts and inner tie rods will have to be done Jan, Exhaust after to make it feel worth while.
Ok cheers mate, was quoted 200 to get the whole bumper resprayed, might find a slightly better quote and get that done some time in the summer, belts and exhaust first.
The bumper does have some other small scuffs and a small crack at the bottom where the previous owner had a high drive, he said 80 for the scuff alone, or 140 for the crack to be propperly bonded and that side to be sprayed along with the scuff which is on the passengers.
However there is some...
Without making a new thread yet, i had a nasty scrape on my front bumper, is a smart repair blown in on that side going to be s**t then?
The bloke i know works for all sorts of high end cars and i think he will just repair the scuff then blend the side in slightly.
Pic...
Good news mate, I replaced my V clamp on the end of the cat to mid silencer, its made things a lot better, however i still have a horrible rattle noise when cold and im off the throttle....
Aiming for the RS192 after xmas, and will attempt to fit it myself i think.
I turn the wheels full lock left or right, gives you access to either side to get your ratchet extension up to the bolt that holds each bumper side on.
I also put some tape on the front side wings as when you pull each side of the bumper off before it drops... the bracket can scratch the front...
Ah thats good to hear, its probably gone up in price now, although after Christmas if no local mechanic can quote me a fair price for labour ill just buy the tool and fit it myself i think.
What all the time when your changing gear?, I'm no expert but i guess its just the initial into first gear causing the gearbox to move causing the noise, my new dog bone solved the problem for a while, the newer revised mount is tight as f**k and i havent adjusted my other mounts to suit it...
Well i know what you mean about the 1st gear "clunk" as i'd describe it, im fairly sure its a common problem, Ive changed my lower dog bone mount which is what most reccomend to do, but the new OEM dog bone mount has been revised and is tighter, and i still have 1st gear clunk, im switching to...
I found the touch up pen from Renault... in pearl black was very soft and didn't dry hard even though i left it a while... it would always sand away, had a few cover ups but they where never great.
This time seeing as Renault don't stock black gold pens any more, i got a touch up kit for...
Depends where it is on the bonnet? if i where you id look for smart repairers in the area, see if they have a site, send them a close up possibly with some thing next to the chip for size, and a further away shot of the bonnet for reference, email it over and ask for a price, thats what i did...
I had 6x9s in the parcel shelf and they where alright for me tbh... but they are frowned upon because there not that great in the open...
Your best off upgrading all your speakers for now, with some 25-35£ a pair speakers... ebay is great for speaker bargains...
Then depending on preference...
Now that you mention it when i move off sometimes, i get a slight noise, so i guess there could be a problem with the wheel bearing(s)
I forgot to spin the wheel round to hear for noise... but seeing as the brake calipers need a clean up, what do i need to do, remove the calliper and test the...
