True...probably leaving it standard will make it standout lol. I remember when mine was blue and I got the wheels refurbed in black...went to Cadwell and there were about 3 or 4 cups there with black wheels lol
Chris
Yep my Cup did this recently..although tbh I wouldn't bother check which it is..get them both done as you can bet the good one will die reasonably soon
Chris
If I were you (original poster) I wouldn't get hung up on reaching a certain BHP....there are a few people with typical mods (manifold, induction/decat/exhaust,remap) on Cups that seem to get 190+...to me it just seems to get that extra 5-10 bhp to reach the 'magical' 200bhp it costs a fair bit...
Yeah you never know what you are up against. I have had doos with old Astras with Cav turbo engines etc...I just laugh about it as the scream past lol. I love sleepers anyway so it never really bothers me
Chris
Not sure how much difference the decat will make noise wise..My induction is a BMC CDA with a venair CAF down to the nearside fog light and works spot on. I managed to get a 5.39 0-60 properly timed with just my rear seats and boot cover out.
Chris
simple mods should do it m8...exhaust, decat, sealed IK with a caf, 182 manifold and a remap or group N ecu. Even without the 182 manifold you should see a fair old difference imo
Chris
Good stuff Mark
I have took out -
Everything out of the boot, rear seats including all belts, all carpets and rear cards, centre console + both front seats replaced with Cobra Suzuka and obviously dumping the belts etc from the front....what weight do you reckon that will be?
Chris
PM if you want one. I have a Cup wheel which is in good condition (thumb grips as well) that I'm going to sell. The Airbag is also available but there is some wear on the top right of it.
Chris
Mine is of a similar spec to Marks but before I stripped it to its current state and got the 182 manifold I managed a 5.39 0-60 using proper timing equipment not speedo/stopwatch.
Chris
thats what I thought but what is this guy on about on the bottom comment
"Great product, strongly recommend it. Henk perfectly tailored the map by considering the mods on the car including the Colombo&Bariani cams. RStuner allows you to see the gains directly so the numbers are REAL. Just a...
Am I right in saying that (if you knew what you were doing lol) you could come up with a map yourself? Or do you have to just upload existing maps? And if I used on my car could I then use it for Nics?
Chris
My 3rd gear has been a bit dodgy for a while but recently while driving sensibly my 2nd gear went...just wouldn't go in then a few mins later with was ok. Now sometimes when I'm coming to a roundabout and go for 2nd it just about makes it with a slight crunch...soon be gameover I think lol
Chris
Mine vs my m8s std GTi - Mine was a fair bit quicker...only time it was reasonably close was slow speeds where his initial torque would pull then I would come on cam and pull it back.
Mine vs same car with APR remap (245bhp and 299ftlb) - From 50- 120 he pulled 1 car....thats were we stopped...
No m8. They have the 1.8t engine running 150bhp as standard iirc. The lad who has it also who built that A3 (apparently running 460bhp so I'm told) and he used to have a 400bhp mk2 golf (think it was what he transferred in to the audi) so he is pretty good with the engines
Chris
That looks spot on imo. I have a contact who actually does the cup racers stickers and was going to get the White Cup done eventually as it primarily a track car. Looking at that I might get a few stickers done as I don't think it ott on that imo
Chris
Cheers guys
Yeah m8 it was at the Lea Gate pub. Great doo, nice and warm night with a cold beer..spot on imo!
Might take the cup along to ruffle some feathers next time lol ;)
