OK, time for a quick update while I'm on here.
Finally got the car back on the65 ecu which has made it much better to drive and thankfully it isn't doing woeful mpg anymore. With the 80 ecu on 65 hardware I for 33mpg on the way back from Devon meaning I may as well have taken the BM!
I had a...
Very old video of my 182 with a lightened flywheel, 98ron rstuner map, decat and janspeed exhaust A/c delete and EPAS. My current cup has one too so the more recent videos of it will show the revvyness however it does have cams too.
I like me a dci project as you well know. Wicked that is runs well, that's exactly what you want when buying one of these. Our Dci is exactly the same thing, a piece of poop we don't care about and can take stuff to the tip in without worrying about.
That feeling of boost is seriously addictive, loved going for a spin in it!
Hopefully that ph1 shaft cures the juddering.
Was a very fun evening. Hopefully we can do a proper day next time and I can bring my car!
This is when I had a shop buy in a tin of paint matching the paint code. It's a colour you absolutely need shading and spray out cards for. We ended up painting the whole car!
Just found this thread when I was searching for my own previous post about the ratio to use. I used two stroke in my dci for 50k flat out on the motorway for nearly all that mileage. The fuel system finally gave up at 156k which is far far longer than anything other dci I’ve ever owned. The one...
Thanks matey, why is your ABS a mess :S sensors and rings is all you need (if you even need those!)
God knows. I get an idea in my head and do it straight away at great expense to any spare time at the weekends! All the sport parts are brilliant for an every day road car. This is now just a car...
If your switch is plugged in and you haven't got the lights there are four things potentially going on, fuse, missing wiring in the engine side of the loom, clocks not set up for cruise or ECU not set up for cruise. Verify them in the order I've listed! To get the cruise light up all you need it...
You could bring it to me or post your airbag ECU to me and I can re-program it to your current configuration of airbags, £20 posted back to you :) I've a fair few on here now!
The decoder ring its self is not a programmed part so you can swap it with another one as a place to start. Is the immobiliser light solid or flashing. Flashing indicates it can't read the key. Solid usually means you have an earthing issue...
Heater controls, 12v when the side lights is on goes to pin 12 on the green connector on the heater controls.
The A/C is control is a signal to the ECU which goes from pin 12. If it doesn't turn on then I suspect the A/C pressure switch isn't seeing the correct pressure to put the compressor on.
Pretty sure it's in the airbag ECU. Wiring wouldn't make a difference because it's just looking for different modules. From my experience if the VINs don't match it nabs it from the airbag.
Wiring video! Next time it'll be the 197 wheel but I've got a bit of research to do before then :)
Thank you! It's not exactly the fastest car but now so much better than it was!
Mental indeed, should probably check myself in somewhere.
Totally agree with @Mazz they sound the same with a little extra spool whistle. A flute nails it!
You absolute legend. Just re-programmed the Cup clocks...
I have, get an idea in my head and have to do it immediately! New video today hopefully.
Cheers D. Yours is going together properly! Mine is chucking a load of smelly and dirty used parts on so is a bit easier ?
Cheers dude, wiring is very satisfying to do properly!
????? You're not the first...
You need the cruise control buttons for the steering wheel. You can either cut your existing airbag or use a cruise airbag for the best finish. The cruise panel and button will plug in. Check if you have a clutch switch installed. The squib is the rotating assembly behind the steering wheel...
First of all I like it that my videos lag my actual progress by months!
Jeees I've done loads to the car over the past 2 weekends. Full rewire on the interior took two whole days and 3 nights in the week. However I now have:
Hardwired USB ports (CPT12v to 5v 3a usb)
Aux Lead/Airplay...
I would happily buy a car and not drive it, even considered it not to long ago for a ph1 v6. Garage genuinely wasn’t wide enough to take one! An investment is an investment.
