I measured up with string and it came out about 5mm too short annoyingly. I think the string sits tighter around the pulley than the belt does. Measuring a belt with a belt must be the best way. I'll have to report back.
Phil, where exactly did you mount the PAS ECU. I've been hunting around...
Fitting the control dial today. Cut the stalk down yes? It's rather long at the moment.
Also measured up a new belt using a brand new belt (cut, wah) 5pk838, if that doesn't fit I WILL cry.
On the ph1 I forgot to put down we've got a slightly smaller sparco wheel :) I say slightly smaller it's still 350mm!
I'd love to have a sabelt wheel but I think the cruise control is going to be a life saver on the 2000 miles we'll be doing.
n/s/r tyre is my old goodrich, now changed for the...
unfortunatley I have a love hate relationship with "rat look"
Sometimes it's just an expression for "I have a rubbish car"
Othertimes it looks good.
I haven't made my mind up. I would get the original bonnet back on and go more euro considering you've got what are lovely wheels. No actually...
Roight here goes as I'm terribly bored
I bought my little 182 back in november, second one I've had and this one isn't a dog.
Unfortunately I can't take credit for the creation, that'd be Mullybaby.
Bits before I got it
Trimmed s/wheel
brembo discs and rc5+ fronts
balance motorsport rear...
I've got the billet one. Makes the idle rough but made it noticeably revvier. Not a problem with stalling and the bite is exactly the same as you would expect as it's a standard clutch.
Lightening the standard flywheel doesn't give results like a billet one does. weight of a lightened one will...
8pk, nooo can't be, slippery number finger ;)
Don't want to keep spending a tenner on a belt so I'm going to cut this freshman, wrap it round and see how much I've got left over.
Ass, wanted to be running this weekend. I did turn her on today though, revs very freely
Is anyone else running the renault 5 set up. I've got a 5pk825 as I measured (twice) and its very tight. Just wondering what other people are running with this.
I will be finishing this weekend so will post a guide once it's all done and I'm happy it's working well. It wont be any use to anyone with a/c though as I'm using this set up. Can't imagine many people doing this mod though which are still pansy enough to need cold air!
found these (bottom one on the link) if anyone can work out how to order a load, they also do the l02fb connector housing for the central plug.

Managed to rewire the plug for the power which was horribly fiddley but better than having a join in the cable. Just posting incase anyone is wondering if its possible. I had to be very careful when opening up the crimps and resecuring them
Quick question, as the new rack has 2 bolts to go directly onto the frame what bolts have you guys used? Also what's this sensor on the rack, I assume I just won't plug it in.
Control box arrived today. Confused as to why it more expensive to post something in England than it is to send that from Portugal but hey ho. Instructions could be followed by a lemming
Box of tricks that I'd rather pay for that what I know.
Got the rack out in the end and all the pas gear. Fluid everywhere. Update in 2 weeks when the Renault 5 brackets come from France
Really the box is just a resistor for the torque sensor and a variable resistor (dial switch) for the speed sensor. All set so they are within the plausible readings range for the ecu. Probably cost a couple of quid to make but it's just handy for us to buy them made up. Bet he's making a nice...
I will try and make the best guide I can but it will be for fitting and not removing all the old stuff. It's difficult to take photos whilst stuffed under a car at midnight!
I'll give it a go tonight. If all fails I'll just drop the frame with all the stuff on.
No Tony! I want to sell the rack...
Got the pump and bits out. Any suggestions for getting the rack out? It's loose but I'm unsure which was to manouvre it. subframe has been dropped with the bolts in, 4 bolts holding rack on are off, pinch bolt off, tre ball joints are out of the hubs.
