Will, not rambly at all, exactly what is needed for people to make the decision. I will add my comments after a month or so of driving in various conditions, a track day and long motorway. My dci standard has epas and does what you have described when in a straight line.
If it is hydro locked it will be less hassle to just get a new engine. If its not locked I'd do exactly what the above if. You can also used mdf as its machine flat
Ps, on a regular basis I deal with claims where cars have no Mots and unless there is evidence it would have failed we can't deduct anything. You have nothing to worry about on that front. If you're a third party they have the obligation to pay up, no question.
Yep. I work for an insurance company....
There are guidelines which will fully indemnify him with none of this billy boy "sue them." You WILL get less if you do this, fact.
Silly clio!
If you don't know i've done quite a heap of work on the clio recently to get her up to scratch for the summer.
Now I've got this noise. Its not the carbon canister as it's been removed (valve has been unplugged to test). It's not dephaser as it's brand new.
Doesn't do it when I...
Finally I get her back on the road next week.
There are a few sticking points left before it's a go go go. I'm looking for a way to attach the ducting to the hole in the arch liner....but...without using tape. If the ducting comes through at all I get rub on the tyre due to the spacers.
She...
There's still a mechanical link so it should feel the same when assistance is tuned at the same level as the old system.
I did my conversion to reduce power sucking from the engine via the PS pump, (a/c already gone) to loose the risk of leaks (happened before but fixed under warranty, new...
I'm most interested in how easily the revs climb now. The adjustability is a nice novelty though.
5pk830 is the perfect belt btw for the other bracket type
If you have a purchase receipt and other maintenance items in the last 3 months you will get back what you have paid out so at least you won't be at a loss :)
Just popped out to the garage. Sorted, chuffed :D :D :D
I can't really see a reason why it would prove to give any distinguishable difference. Maybe if it's over assisted like a lot of EPAS systems are then the feeling would be 'orrible. When it's off completely it feels like our old landy...
Finished off the car last night. Drove it out the garage and I hear this noise. It's when I'm steering as you can see. Sounds like a vibration. Any ideas welcome as I'm 100% lacking any spare time to try and find this gremlin and need the car in a week!
Bit late. Will, that's where I'm going to relocate my control knob. Your knob is nicer than mine!
I'm trying my third belt now, I'll get there!
My dci survived miles of cobbles. My worries about the longevity could not be smaller. I am also running a brand spanker of a new one as well. The car...
Think the mounting bolts are high tensile. Because the ball joints are so easily moved there really is very little impact on the rack other than if you hit a curb or something. I really have no worry at all. I'm driving the ring later in the year so if there's no problem there I imagine there...
The dci will more than suffice. It's just a little smaller as it has no fluid and other bits. Remember, it's the tie rods which as designed to go before the rack so I can never imagine having a problem.
The 182 isn't a great deal heavier than the dci. I'm happy with my dci (jolly hope it...

Got my work cut out tomorrow.
Remove charcoal filter
Finish fitting the brake ducts
Replace rear brakes
New front discs
New exhaust mounts
Finish oil cooler hoses
Remount horn
Fit steering rack, epas 75% done now.
Wish me luck!
found it, took some photos for the guide. Got all the wiring done and in today. Putting the rack on tomorrow and it should be a wrap (apart from the belt)
Got the clicking from the relay so I assume it's working. Will have to wait to get her on the ground to see if the adjustment works.
