No mate had it gassed before the rad started leaking was all good then.
I left my original condensor in place and just changed the rad . And put my fan onto new rad . Is the aircon sensor the little plug above top rad hose?
Yes i asked them whats the right way . They said just fit it and see . I dont want to take it all apart again after ive fitted it . And i seen a few posts on here about dud thermostats so thats why i wanted to check it . Just boiled the kettle at work and tried it still nothing must be a faulty...
I bought a new thermostat yesterday so before i put back in i thought id check it opens and is not a dud one . Put it in boiling water on the cooker in a pan . Nothing actually happened ?
Rang the supplier today they said thats not the right way to check its working ?
What shall i do now ...
Im looking to purchase one of the selector linkage seal repair kits? If thats what its called ...
I found it before but cant remember where i saw it . Tried renault they no longer make them they said .
Cheers
Made some progress with the rad swap these nice evenings we been having .
Found a rad for the measley sum of £10 from a friend who broke his clio a few weeks back so nice saving there :)
Whilst im changing the rad i thought id change the thermostat and the header tank for fresh new items...
Small update .
Been finding small patches on fluid on the floor recently only to find there growing in size so have come to conclusion my radiator is leaking , so a new one is now required . Which puts a hold on my wheels getting sprayed :/
Fitted a genuine renault air filter yesterday thanks...
Just spoke to a renault mechanic from my local dealership hes there master tech . Hes come across a few with the same problem he said possibly fuel pump ? Starvin the engine once its under demand for more fuel makes sense to me as the feeling is like its running out of fuel
My friends bought a 172 monaco but once he gets into vvt at around 4-5 k it sort of dies out and theres a noticable change in engine tone once this happens also a drop in power.
No lights on dash .
Would a dodgy dephaser solonoid cause this ?
Cheers for the comments guys , that one on euro does look a bit better than the ebay ones , theres a euro that delivers to my work also so not sure what to do now pay the extra or risk the cheaper option .
Im goin to do be doing a coolant flush soon so i thought id change my header tank the same time as it looks rank and discoloured . Ive been quoted from west renault £40 odd quid im wondering is there any cheaper places i can purchase one before i place an order cheers dan
