I got my 51 plate Red 172 for £7950, it was on 22k miles with new tyres & brakes all round and a recent Renault service.
Red ones are rare! They should be worth more ;)
I read GQ the other day and alongside a Ferrari review there is a bit about Theirry Henry, he says he has many cars but only mentioned the 172 (Mark 2), hes waiting for a new 182 IIRC.
The blue mark 1 in your pic is indeed a mark 1, its a Mark 1 Phase 3 by the looks of it (around a P reg)
Newest shape one is Mark 2 Phase 2... (Or facelift yeah I guess)
According to our very own http://www.cliosport.net/specs/history.aspCliosport website there is a Mark 2 Phase 3?!
Too be...
My HPi check also told me that there wasnt any finance owing on the car, it hadnt be reported stolen, crashed, and there was no kind of suspect activity in the cars history. It tells you more than if it had been written off/repaired.
I used the AA btw, but I think most of the companies that...
AFAIK it takes a few hundred miles before the mpg sorts itself out? I got scared when I reset the trip computer and I could never get above 30mpg, then I started to go up to about 32/33mpg, but the cold weather didnt help.
Now Im back down to 31.7mpg, because my exhaust is blowing around where...
It is I think, but you need to kinda force the clock out then force the heated unit out as its held in very nicely. Helps if you can take out the bit running alongside the lower part of it IIRC.
Whats RXE mean then? Renault EXtra?! That was the level of trim above the RT wernt it?
Who cares?! Bang a 1.4 GTT lump in an RT and ya know what it means then!!!
On my 172 when the dipped beam is ON and you pull the right hand stalk towards you to operate the washer jets for the windscreen the jets for the front lights come on at the same time. You should be able to hear them working.
Its good to see Yoz putting up a good stint on that forum anyway, the CTR boys are either fairly impressed and nice about it or they go and sulk and start sparking stupid comments.
Some of them give us a bit of a slating! The 172/182 should be pitted against the Fiesta ST or the C2 VTR!?
Fair enough I know from experience that a CTR will pull away on a straight, but they arent as bad as those guys are making them out to be!
Ill be watching that thread closely!!
Had my car for about 3 weeks now and last night I discovered under the passenger seat (whilst looking for a CD for a friend) that I actually have a standard 6 cd changer there!
Oh the joy, its like my car has given me a chrimbo pressie...
..or am I just really sad and stupid for not knowing...
Its a nice car mate, get that splitter on, leave the rest of the stuff on, hell you bought it with it all on so you must like it, why take it off!?
Merry Christmas :)
Just noticed that Ive even stuck this in the wrong forum! Hah, thanks for the replies though.
I did think the wheel well would be an issue, will probably get the exhausts either side of the well then, and cut the existing bumper, probably the easier thing to do.
I dont want the exhaust to...
Bit obvious where Im going with this but thought I should ask first...
Want a 182 rear bumper on my 172, purely for the holes and the exhaust look if I can get a suitable exhaust fitted as well, is it possible? Im guessing they are pretty identical in terms of how they fit on? (Mark 2 172 btw)...
I wouldnt buy a 172 without an alarm either unless its garaged or something, you should as edde says, get some money off for the alarm and also the spare key!
Have you gone to view any other ones? Its always useful to go and view a few 172/182s before you decide on one.
Im 22 and have just got a 172, with Tesco my insurance is about £1500 I think, though I pay it monthly so I cant really work out what it is at the moment, when I turn 23 next year and get 2 years NCBs under my belt it might come down a bit, but I doubt it!
My excess is stupidly high at the...
