My car is stuck in a garage many miles away and it needs a new centre section of an exhaust, now according to the bloke at the garage there are about 4 or 5 different types of centre section for my clio, its a 1991 1.4 RT and it has a stainless Powerflow backbox, and its missing a cat & centre...
.. true, but more expensive, youll need a donor car + around a grand, whearas you can have the 1.8 16v engine for under £1k. Its 137bhp as well whearas the GTT is 110/118 (phs1/2). I know modding the GTT will give you more power for your pound but I guess the 16v engine is a bit more reliable...
Mine is a bit lower on the right hand side (drivers side) than it is on the other, and there are two other Clio owners (on the RSC) that have the same prob.
Guess its just some French mechanics having a laff I guess..
I got a producer for sod all. When I first got my car I had a chromed tailpipe on, still had my original 13s with the original wheel trims, it was 11pm at night and I was wearing a cap and my (then) g/f was in the passenger seat. Police followed me for about 2 minutes before pulling me over, for...
Didnt have too many revs on the counter! :(
Looks like the GTT thing, fed up with this engine going wrong, I want another one to go wrong on me at 7 in the morning.
.. now where is EP motorsports number!!!? ;)
K, this morning, doing about 20 towards a roundabout, saw a lorry coming round so I put it into 1st gear from 2nd and as soon as I put my foot down a bit and let the clutch up something made a bang... Managed to crawl her to an Asda car park, revs were quite high, around 2/3k on idle, all over...
Ill be another one to say get a GTT lump, if you are planning on spending 4k on a newer car then you can spend £2k on getting a really neat trick GTT lump in your Clio, and youve got £2k left to spend on;
1) Booze.. :D
2) Loose women... ;)
3) Another cheap runabout if the GTT goes pop...
Tried adjusting the tappets on my 91 1.4 RT yesterday, but to no avail, if anything the noise is slightly worse and I tried doing them twice. Firstly I numbered them from the wrong end, from the passenger end first.. Then I realised I had done em wrong so I numbered them from the...
Er, Im pretty pap at spraying plastic bits on my car but so far Ive done the side bump strips, wingmirrors and the rear boot strip.
Just sand it down with wet & dry (used dry) until there are no scratches in the plastic, use a coarse paper then use finer wet & dry paper until its really really...
Ha Renault Top powah!
No dont come to uni in Stafford... I have learnt that there are 3 main things to consider when going to university...
1) Number of decent pubs and clubs within a 10 mile radius...
2) Women to blokes ratio...
3) Decent mixed halls/accomodation...
Teaching quality...
I will never try it on with a R5 GTT or a valver or VTS/172/Ferrari, just try to stay close to the car without making him/her think I want a race, just so I can look at the car! Esp if its a Clio Ill try following it just in case there are friendly thumbs up or something...
.. Usually try it...
And my mates at work in Stafford wonder why I wanna move back home to Leicester and finish my 2nd and 3rd years of uni there instead of staying in this sh*tty little town!
Lets get the Cliosport massif onto this guy.
I think if the boxes are of a good build quality and sealed then no I dont think the sub will interfere. Ive taken my 6x9s out anyway now, if I do put any rear speakers in they will be quite small and mounted at the side of the parcel shelf and they will be turned down a fair bit and only used...
Nice to see some older cars in there, the last version of GT3 didnt have as much choice IMO as GT2??
Will we be able to buy 2nd hand cars or are they all gonna be new cars? Nice to see the R5 turbo in there :)
... if only you could do engine conversions on this game!
Buy a replacement element, like a K&N or something and then get an exhaust. Thatll be enough, anyway its summer, ur airbox wil prolly let in more hot air with holes in it and for the noise its not worth it.
The torsion bar is a piece of piss, and fitting springs is an afternoon job. You could have your car lowered in a day, just give yourself time, get a mate to help you and buy some tools. Find the guide on the website and have a go at it yourself, if it goes wrong (which it prolly wont cus its...
