The harder you drive a ph1 the better, if you drive them like a girl it acts like a girl and throws a strop. You have to have your foot flat to the floor at all times.
you'll soon get used to the cable throttle its not as smooth a fly by wire but its better when you want to blip the throttle. The gear gaitor doesn't help make it easy to change into reverse as it gets in the way a little.
i'm glad its staying on here. I tried to be as honest as possible with it while selling. I can't wait to see it done.
I've been enjoying having a turbo again though after a month not driving it.
I'd try undoing all the bolts and resettling the engine then tighten everything up it may have just moved further back than it was before. If not then one of your mounts is on its way out.
It makes the car feel so much better in side, it feels a lot more modern. I put up with it with out the switches. I don't usually use it daily but i have for the past month and its not bothered me.
You could do it in an afternoon. You will lose air con, rear heated screen, recurculation button and you'll have to have your standard hazzard switch and door lock button down where the cup holders are unless you do some rewiring. I wouldn't really advise it mate its more hassle than its worth...
The ph1 door cards should fit but i didn't have any to fit. I've changed all the carpets and everything so it all matches nicely. You don't realise how horrible the blue carpet is until you change it.
I doubt that'll ever happen even the lad with the tuned dci has only got 190ftlb of torque which is only 40 ftlb up from a 172 but the lack of power is too much.
if you stick to tight twisty tracks it should be great it may struggle a little on any with long straights which need out right power though.
I love diesels but i know mine struggles in out right pace against a petrol but on midrange stuff it can show petrol up.
Yeah the girly looking one. I want something with bullet proof reliabilty and the mk2 is fat and barge like and the mk1 is far too old. I'll be getting all the chassis bracing done and coilovers so it'll be a proper road going go kart. Roof down fun will be amazing up in the alps.
