yeah its ok saying that, but how is that reflected in terms of power/torque?
peak power occuring at higher rpm. so just moves power band meaning no extra power gained?
figures? what sort of redline required? previous cars fitted with them? why nobody seems to go for them?
ive asked about 551 cams.
people dont seem to know why they went for 422's over 423's.
which is why im asking.
and im looking for people who have used them
carl
EDIT - Danny, on the GDI car why did you go for 422's rather than the 423's then?
in most clio itb engine builds people seem to use catcam 422 cams. they make good power and people seem happy.
but why not use 423's?
i suspect a higher redline would be required but how high would the redline need to be?

Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
see we ran them at 26 cold which seemed to work well, but was rising quite high when warm. Grip was spot on and wear seemed good so just kept it at that. Passenger front wore too quickly on edges, ran them too high tbh.
Live and learn :) think...
Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
yeah was lowered too much before, its alot higher on the front now and there is some travel :O
backend is just as stiff as it can go.
really twitchy backend but i like it :)
the tyres all wore very evenly apart from passenger front where it...
Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
massively, the backend was all over...just the way i like it :D
still room for improvement in the hairpins though, but i think thats a problem with my driving tbh
Re: PH1 172 Track Car, abit special *ITB update*
Completed another trackday, Cadwell again.
Car performed very well and it seems the camber problem is fixed :)

Has anyone ever done this on a F4R engine, if so how was it done and whats the reliability like?
i have heard of machining a bar instead of the hydro mech inside, but thats all i know lol
carl
yep 100% mate, surprised also.
i think we have been running the front too low tbh so knocked it up alittle and it seems to be much better on road. Will see how it goes at Cadwell :)
carl
still uses the small spring setup, just stiffer spring and valved to suit.
Far from perfect but will see how they are at Cadwell since ive risen them up abit.

Cat Cam 551's
Why do people go for the 422's over the 551's?
551's have too much lift? meaning piston/valve contact?
