So I'm looking to get some new alloys as the current ones have a few marks. I have the choice of either a new set of the current ones for £800 or a set of competition alloys for ~£1500. What do you think? Pic below of competition wheels.
2008 - Introduced DCT semi automatic box
2009 - CIC idrive (much easier to control with a larger HD screen)
2010 - LED rear lights
2011 - Combox added (Bluetooth music streaming, apps, internet on the move)
In 2009 they also changed the front grill, cup holders, start button and a coupe of...
They are £600 from BMW or around £425-450 second hand.
You buy a plug and play harness from BMW so they take 15 mins to fit.
They will work perfectly legal once fitted but you need them coding to remove the bulb check and to slow down the indicator speed.
Covered a few miles in this now and absolutely love it. It will be going for a few laps around the Nurburgring next month to really stretch its legs.
Fitting LCI LED Rear Lights and LCI Chrome/Black grills once they arrive tomorrow. Also looking to buy some 359M Competition Wheels for it...
Re: The life of... SharkyUK's Trophy [& Fred's V6]
Sharky my blue 172 track car is with Fred and has a brand new alloy radiator sat in the boot if it's any good for you, Fred knows I want to sell it so ask him if it would suit your car. Look at my Ph-1 172 (racing blue track car) to see the type.
That's my next choice actually, I'm not sure if I should refurb the current set or buy some competition alloys.
unlike most, I think I prefer the standard alloys.
Motorway miles, on the way back from Brighton (Cruise control set at 77mph) :
Typically around town I would say around 16-20mpg.
If you are thinking about getting one, don't buy one unless it has:
DCT
EDC
Some form of uprated audio system (pref Logic7/HK or Individual)
Thanks everyone :-)
DCT and EDC are a must.
The gearbox is unbelievable! When I drive in automatic mode it feels like 1 gear, you can't feel the changes at all.
Picked it up on Saturday and I am very pleased with it. The DCT semi-automatic box is unbelievable, you cant even feel the changes. I even managed 29.6mpg driving from Brighton to Hertford.
The first thing I did was to change the silver dash trims to the OEM Carbon Leather dash trims.
Parked...
not sure yet,I haven't had chance to check the market.

Update for this
*Correction* The iPad was actually bought from PCWorld. Previous iPad 2 was bought from Argos.
Spoke with PCWorld who agreed that it was unacceptable that a £500+ iPad would only last 20 months.
They agreed to pay for Apple to repair/replace the iPad and I now have a new iPad...
I would not be messing around with the cooling system of a Focus RS with sealant.
Remove the thermostat housing and fix it properly before it fails completely.
The thermostat housing is made up of 2 bits with 2 seals.
1 - Housing to block with seal
2 - Front part of housing to main housing (held by 3 bolts) which is sealed by the thermostat
Which part is leaking?
This is common, I tried to reseal it on my RS 5 times. In the end I replaced the o-ring on the thermostat and it finally sealed.
I would recommend upgrading your thermostat to a 88c one from...
The best thing you can buy for a focus RS is a Scangauge. Sounds like you've been lucky, the red light normally comes on too late.
I would check the thermostat housing, the standard one is crap and will split.
Error (1) is an error which relates to a hardware issue.
From what the guy said at the Apple Store, this error will only appeared as the iPad was restored.
If anybody else has this, you do have a 2 year Warranty with Apple products (http://www.apple.com/uk/legal/statutory-warranty/)

I can understand people's point of view that the product is out of warranty etc. I agree that if a product is broken out of warranty it's tough s**t really. I actually replaced an iPhone screen on my out of warranty iPhone 5 yesterday as I broke the product.
My expectations may be a little high...
